Well, we’ve hit the one month mark for this pandemic series and I wonder how many more months till we can go back to the Tuesday food tours?
Well, we’ll just wait and see and in the meantime, let’s go get this week’s taco meal!
This week’s taco destination is Mariachi Mexican Restaurant Bar & Grill off of War Memorial Drive. For a while, this was kind of a jinxed spot for restaurants, but they’ve been in business here for a few years, so I’m glad they have been successful.
They have a huge menu with a nice selection of tacos.
Let’s go in and begin this cuatro week of tacos!
They told me at the host station that the dinner would be ready in a few minutes, so let’s wander and take some photos while we wait.
It’s hard to see because it’s dark, but this fellow has his mask on, nice job, amigo!
The spacious dining room has low-lighting and I don’t want to go pop flashes off in there and disturb people, so let’s go check out the bar.
You can see photos of the dining room in this post from 2018.
There’s the massive bar, I’m looking forward to the day that I can sit there and eat my dinner!
There’s tables up at the front of the room and opposite the bar. They also have comfortable booths lining the walls.
This lovely woman came out with tonight’s taco dinner and I forgot to ask her name. You can’t see it, but I’m sure there’s a beautiful smile under that mask.
And boom, here we are back at the MBIP World Headquarters Kitchen and Tasting Area. Let’s dig in.
The meal comes with a bag of complimentary homemade tortilla chips. They were crispy and delicious.
I got an appetizer order of six hot wings. They were juicy, spicy and packed some heat!
The taco meal comes with beans and rice, but I’m not a bean eater, so I told them to hold them and they gave me extra rice.
The rice was fluffy and had a nice flavor to it.
And now for the main course, time to reveal this week’s trio of tacos…
Ta-da! Or should I say, Taco-da!
This is the dish they call, Tacos Diablo, the trio of tacos come garnished with avocado slices, but I’m not an avocado guy, so I took them off and squeezed some lime juice on them.
They look fantastic!
Wow, these are tasty tacos!
The tortilla is warm, soft and fresh and it’s stuffed with chunks of steak, chorizo and grilled onions.
The meat and onions are marinated in a spicy salsa sauce and these tacos are loaded with delicious flavor! The salsa adds a nice zing and this was a delicious trio of tacos.
Maravilloso!
