Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night Take-Out, starring The Blue Duck Barbecue Tavern with special guest star, Mary!
And now, please welcome, all the way from the Peoria Riverfront, The Blue Duck Barbecue Tavern!
Here we are on Water Street near the Peoria Riverfront. We’ll take that sign’s advice and head on down to one of my favorite Peoria restaurants, The Blue Duck Barbecue Tavern!
We were last here on Amber’s birthday, but we stayed in the party bus. Tonight we’ll go in and pick up this week’s Saturday night dinner!
Here’s the lobby leading in to The Blue Duck.
That Creamy Chorizo Potato Soup sounds delicious! I’ll have to try that next time. Check it out on facecrack.
I love these paintings in the hallway. Especially the fox with the pipe and hat.
Of course I always have to include this link to my favorite scene from Best In Show. The part I’m talking about happens at the 1:22 mark.
There’s the bar and as you can see, there’s lots of beers on tap!
There’s tables for dining opposite the bar and behind them is the elevated dining room. Comfortable booths line the side wall.
The colorful menu is featured on this chalk board next to the bar.
There’s Mary with tonight’s Saturday night feast! She’s looking cute in her mask!
Through the miracles of the interwebs, here we are back at the MBIP World Headquarters Kitchen and Tasting Area. Our meal is packaged nicely in three handy and dandy containers.
Of course we’ll start the meal off with a giganzo can of Budweiser, cheers!
They have the most unique and tasty chicken wings in Peoria. Back in 2015 they won the MBIP Best Chicken Wing Contest!
The wings are huge and they’re smoked then fried. I noticed on the menu they feature a sauce I’ve never tried, Spicy Asian Buffalo Sauce, so that’s what I got. Wow, that sauce is so tasty and spicy! I didn’t think these wings could get any better, but they’ve managed to pull it off!
What a fantastic start to this meal!
Their homemade biscuits are large, dense, flaky and buttery!
I ordered a side of the Red Cabbage Slaw and it was crisp, tart and delicious!
This is one of my favorite things on the menu, the Warm Bacon Potato Salad. I’m usually not a potato salad guy, but this concoction takes the idea of potato salad to a level like you’ve never tasted before!
It’s large chunks of potatoes, hunks of smoky bacon and onions and it’s tossed in a spicy and zippy mustard sauce. If you’ve never had this dish, you need to try it out as soon as you can!
As you can see, the ribs here are a fantastic treat and the house-made sauce compliments them perfectly.
Wow, these are unbelievable!
They are fall off the bone tender and they’re barbecued to perfection!
Another wonderful Saturday night meal from The Blue Duck Tavern!
And with every meal, you get a Fresh Nap Handwipe!
A perfect ending for a wonderful and flavorful Saturday night dinner!
