I’m doing a Marty Monologues show at the end of this month on Wednesday, January 29th. I’m excited because I’m performing it at Bradley University in the Marty Theatre! Yes, the theater is named after me! Well not really, but it’s named after somebody named Marty—I have to go get a photo of that!
Anyway, the show that I’m doing is one I did about a year ago and the name of this show is: “I Was A Pre-Teen Hippie: Sweet & Savage Memories of Growing Up in the ’60’s.”
Below is a teaser video by Steven Marx from the Apollo Show I performed about a year ago at the Apollo Theatre here in Peoria. All original artwork in the video is by Chelsie Tamms of Lettering Works.
The show is a collection of stories about growing up in the ’60’s. There’s also live music from Sarah Marie Dillard and Brandon Mooberry and in between songs I’ll be making 60’s styled tubs of candy to give to three lucky audience members! In addition to the candy, they’ll also get a brand new vinyl sealed copy of “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” by The Beatles!
The show is being presented by Olli at Bradley University and you have to register to attend the show. Registration is inexpensive, just five bucks and then it’s ten dollars to attend. Bradley students can attend the show for free!
Registration details and other information about the show is available at the fb Marty Monologues event page, just click here to be taken to that page.
Okay, I have to go rehearse now, see you Saturday when we spotlight yet another Sandwich of Peoria!
