Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, Lou’s Drive-In, with special guest stars, Bridget, Caroline and Ashley! Now please welcome this week’s host, Lou’s Drive-In!
Here we are at the first Saturday of the spring/summer season of Lou’s Drive-In! This is exciting, but something’s not right here…
The iconic Lou’s Drive-In sign isn’t lit up! This is kind of troubling to me!
This is a photo from the MBIP archives, this is how the sign should look! I need to find out what’s going on here tonight!
We’ll grab a stool at the Lou’s island, it’s near closing time, so there’s a whole row of them open over here. Let’s snag one and settle in for the evening!
I really don’t need a menu because I already know what I want, but I’ll take a gander at it anyway.
Check it out, here’s Bridget serving me up a cold, frosty mug of Lou’s root beer! She told me that the sign isn’t working and that they have a call in to get it fixed. Well, I’ll have to get a photo of that later I guess. I placed my dinner order with Bridgette and we’ll take a few photos while it’s being prepared.
Here’s the other two Lou’s girls working behind the counter, from left: Caroline, Bridget and Ashley. Everyone here is always friendly and welcoming!
At least the island signage is all lit up!
There’s the iconic Lou’s root beer keg and a stack of curb service trays waiting to be filled up with goodies from the kitchen at Lou’s Drive-In!
I just can’t stop obsessing over that un-lit Lou’s Drive-In sign. I need to just leave it alone, but I know I won’t till I see it lit up again!
Meanwhile, back at my stool at the Lou’s island, Caroline is bagging up some of the famous Lou’s popcorn and Bridget is serving up tonight’s Saturday night dinner!
I got the classic Lou’s Saturday night dinner: Root Beer, onion rings and a chili-cheese dog with mustard and onions. It looks simply scrumptious!
The onion rings are crispy and tasty and the chili-cheese dog is never a disappointment at Lou’s and tonight is no exception to this rule! The meal tastes like summertime, now if it would only warm up a little here, everything would be perfect!
Evening and darkness falls on Lou’s Drive-In and hopefully soon that Lou’s sign will be lit up again! I won’t rest easy until it’s shining like a beacon in the night!
I had the classic Lou’s combination of a root beer, onion rings and a chili-cheese dog with mustard and onions! It was delicious!
