Live, From Germantown Hills, it’s Saturday Night Cheeseburger starring this week’s host, Germantown Grille and featuring special guest stars, Sara, Tori, Corrine, Ellen, Rachel and the Smiley Graphix Male Whore, John Ingles! Now, please welcome this week’s host, the Germantown Grille!
The last couple of Saturday Night posts I’ve returned to the original roots of the Saturday Night Cheeseburger idea that I started way back in 2010 when I started doing this Saturday Night series and I got a cheeseburger once a week. Well I recently saw that Germantown Grille recently won an award for their cheeseburgers, so I thought we’d do yet another Saturday Night Cheeseburger episode this week. And so here we are, so let’s go in and start yet another Saturday Night Cheeseburger evening!
I walked in and saw that you have to wait to be seated, so I waited and then suddenly these three pretty ladies appeared! They are from left: Sara, Tori and Corrine and I told them I was going to sit at the bar and they pointed me in the proper direction to that destination.
Along the way I saw the award for the best cheeseburger which they won from Peoria's 92.3 radio station. It's rumored that 92.3 plays the hottest music, so I hope and pray that their studios are air-conditioned. There’s the bar, let’s go grab a seat and get settled in.
I sat down and within minutes the friendly and pretty bartender for the evening, Ellen came by with an ice-cold bottle of Budweiser, I love it when that happens. I chose my cheeseburger for the evening off of the menu and Ellen placed the order for me. They have ten different types of cheeseburgers and if you keep on scrolling, you’ll see which one I chose!
As you can see, they have a nice inventory of liquor and bottled beer and there’s 10 taps to choose from if you want to go the draft beer route.
There’s tables opposite the bar and a full dining room is also available for your dining pleasure. They play it smart here by having a tribute area to both the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals. No one gets alienated here at the Germantown Grille, a homerun of an idea!
Meanwhile, back at the bar...
Sara is rolling the silverware in napkins and doing quite an impressive job! Very nice!
And now it’s cheeseburger time as Rachel brings out this week’s cheeseburger. She’s looking very cute and what a fantastic smile! Okay, now let’s check out their award-winning cheeseburger!
Wow, this is one outstanding looking cheeseburger! I chose the Western cheeseburger which is a half pound burger topped with barbecue sauce, cheddar, haystack onions, bacon and I added a dollop of mustard. Mainly because it's just so much damned fun to type in the word, "dollop." You can read more about the Western cheeseburger below but I can definitely see how they won their best cheeseburger award, it’s fantastic!
My friends John and De Ingles live in Germantown Hills, so I invited them out and John showed up just after I finished dinner. John and De have a graphic arts business called Smiley Graphix and De wanted John to wear a Smiley Graphix t-shirt, but he told me he was sick of being the male whore for the company and he refused to wear it, so De pitched a fit and stayed at home. I felt bad so I tattooed Smiley Graphix on John’s forehead. I hope this makes you feel better, De and that you come along the next time I invite you out for an MBIP evening!
At the end of the evening, Melody came up and insisted that John and I were the guys from, “Table 8.” This happens to us all the time and I have no idea why! Anyway, thanks to John for stopping by and to everyone at the Germantown Grille for a fun evening and a great cheeseburger! We’ll see you all tomorrow!
I can see how the Germantown Grille won the award for the best Cheeseburger in Peoria. They have ten varieties of cheeseburgers including Mushroom & Swiss, Cheddar Bacon, Bleu Cheese and one with everything on it called, The Works. I chose the Western cheeseburger which is a half pound burger topped with barbecue sauce, cheddar, haystack onions and bacon and it was one tasty burger! The burger was juicy and savory and the toppings all complimented each other nicely, especially the haystack onions, they added a nice salty crunch to the burger. The bun was bakery fresh and I highly recommend this delicious cheeseburger!

Four Wimpys—My burger was fantastic and I can see how they won the best cheeseburger in Peoria. Actually it’s really something they won that award, because they’re not even located in Peoria!
