About a month ago I took part in a special event at Jimmy’s Bar called, “A Paint And A Pint.” It was a fun evening where you paint while drinking some beer. You can check that evening out by clicking right here. MBIP pal, Phil Luciano was in the bar that night and he suggested I take my painting and install it in Jerry’s Bar, much like the hidden painting that hangs behind the bar at Judge’s Chamber. I thought that was a wonderful idea and so it’s off to Jerry’s Bar we go!
And through the magic of these here interwebs we’ve been suddenly transported to the door that opens up to...
The Tartan stairway to Jerry’s Bar!
There’s the bar and two familiar faces over there...
It’s Anne and Gerry, the cordial hosts of Jerry’s bar! They truly are America's cutest couple, aren't they?
Okay, time for me to install my painting, which by the way is titled, “The Happy House.”
Okay, the painting is installed and Jerry is happy with it and we’ve decided to celebrate this wondrous art happening by going out to dinner at...
Agatucci’s!
There’s Dan behind the bar...Tony is nowhere in sight! We may just have a Tony Agatucci free night in here! If you recall from this post, I can’t seem to shake that guy!
We got a booth in the main dining room and I took a photo of Meg, our pretty waitress and the goddamned MBIP camera fuzzed out on me. Hate the MBIP camera! Hate, hate...HATE it!
Meg took a shot of the three of us at our booth. My parents are drinking Canadian Club on the rocks. They don’t fuck around!
We started out with a salad dressed with Agatucci’s homemade vinegar and oil. I love this salad dressing, nothing else tastes like it.
And here comes the main course, a large sausage and pepperoni pizza pie!
Aaaahhhhh! There’s no escape!
After dinner I thought I’d head down to the source of the inspiration for tonight’s art installation at Jerry’s Bar, the Judge’s Chamber.
Let’s go in and have a beer or three for dessert!
This is definitely an Al bar for sure! Always nice and dark in here! And there’s plenty of seats at the bar, let’s go get settled in.
As soon as we sit down, Kelly, the pretty bartender on duty serves up an ice-cold can of Budweiser. I love it when that happens!
Judge’s Chamber regular, Coach was seated at the end of the bar and posed with Kelly for the roving MBIP camera. Love that Judge’s Chamber sweat shirt that Coach has on. Orange you glad I took this photo of it? Oof, sorry about that!
After I took that photo, Coach went to go try his luck at one of the gaming machines that line part of the wall opposite the bar.
There’s also small tables along the wall and this Budweiser neon ship floats above one of them. It’s colorful...and shiny!
I think this is the original bar, I’ll have to ask next time I’m in here.
I love the champagne glass etched mirror behind the bar...hey, that reminds me, we need to go behind the bar and take a photo of...
The hidden painting behind the bar that inspired this evening. Here she is in all her naked glory. Nice tits! You can find out more about the history of this painting by watching this Barstorming video with Phil and Danielle Hatch at Judge’s Chamber.
Shift change at Judge’s Chamber! The lovely Brandi is taking over for Kelly behind the bar. Brandi’s been on MBIP before and it’s great to see her again!
This is Doug Hensley at the bar. Doug emailed me a couple months ago and told me he reads MBIP all the way out in Phoenix, Arizona and was coming back for his 40th Richwoods High School reunion and said we should try to meet for a beer. Well, that night is here as Doug just got into town for the reunion. He’s staying at the Pere Marquette, so I told him meeting at Judge’s Chamber would be perfect as he could just walk across the street. See how things work out here on MBIP? Doug graduated one year ahead of me and we had a nice chat about growing up in Peoria in those crazy, hazy ‘70’s days! Really great to meet Doug! That’s one thing I love about blogging, meeting so many cool people!
Here’s Doug behind the bar getting ready to take a shot of the hidden naked lady painting.
Cheers from Doug and I and happy reunion wishes to the Richwoods class of 1975! We’ll see you all tomorrow...and hey, let’s be careful out there!

Jaws the Cabbie sent in this artwork of where he thought my mom reinstalled my artwork, right on the kitchen fridge. Ha! Nice work, Jaws, thanks!
