It’s hard to believe, but this six week tour of soup is coming to an end! This is our sixth and final stop on the tour, but it’s going to be a special stop...hey, what’s that...
Someone’s knocking at the door, let’s see who it is...
It’s my friends, Star and Kevin! They’re looking great and Star looks prettier every time I see her! Kevin and Star joined us on the Tenderloin and Pizza tour, so great to have them along for this sixth and final week of soup!
And right after Star and Kevin have come into MBIP World Headquarters, my friend Nathalie has arrived looking beautiful as always! I met Nathalie on the first week of this tour at Kenny’s Westside Pub and she joined MBIP Wheelman, Scott Turley and I for the second week at The Coffee Hub and now she’s here for the sixth and final soupy week, great to see her!
After a quick beer at MBIP World Headquarters we’re off to McCritter’s in Pekin with Kevin at the wheel and Star is riding shotgun.
Uh, oh, Nathalie’s busted checking her smart phone in the back seat!
Okay, we’ve arrived at McCritter’s Bar & Grill in Pekin!
McCritter’s is located in the Concorde Inn & Suites building. Congratulations, Lori Shields and please say hi to your sister, Panty for us!
The entrance is right over there, let’s go and get this final week of soup underway!
Tables line the walls in the spacious front room in here...
And there’s the bar over there. After I snapped this photo I was asked why I was taking pictures...
So I explained to these three that we were on a mission for soup at McCritter’s and then had them pose for the MBIP camera. From left: Kira, bartender Elizabeth and Kirk. Great to meet all of them!
McCritter’s is known for their large selection of homemade soups that rotate every day. Here’s today’s selection, quite a few choices to be had here!
We settled in to our table and Holly our pretty waitress came and took our order. Star and Kevin are friends with the owner of McCritter’s and they’ve worked up something special for this final week of soup! While that’s being prepared, let’s take a look around in here.
There’s another bar in this back room.
And plenty more tables, McCritter’s is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside!
They also have an impressive game room over here with a classic pool table and...
A shuffleboard table that spans the length of the entire back wall!
And The Sopranos may be off of the TV, but they live on here in McCritter’s via this pinball machine. Fuhgeddaboudit!
As I make my way back to our table, Holly is armed with a tray containing a soup flight from McCritter’s! Kevin and Star arranged this with the owner and this is too cool!
Holly took a picture of us at our table as the soup is cooling down a bit.
Nathalie is taking pictures too and you can see her photos below this post, just keep on scrolling!
They even labeled each soup for us, this is too cool!
Star and Kevin are getting ready to dive into the soup!
Nathalie is all set to start sampling soup and so...
Here we go! All the soups were so good! They’re all homemade and each has it’s own unique and flavorful taste.
Nathalie got a shot of me trying out one of the cups of soup. Could my forehead be any bigger?
I took the camera back and got a shot of Nathalie sampling soup!
We also got two of the personal pizzas that McCritter’s is known for.
The pizza is great...
But the soup was even better! I think my favorite was the chicken noodle, a classic soup and they did a great job with it! Thanks to Kevin and Star for setting this up and to Nathalie for coming along and hanging out with us for this trip! Always love to have her along! And thanks to Holly and everyone at McCritter’s for a wonderful ending to this Six Weeks Of Soup Tour! We’ll have a wrap-up of the soup tour next week, and a special Souper Bowl Party, so stay tuned for that!
