Okay, it’s Friday, which means we’ll be hitting a bar for our weekly lunch. And we’re meeting a special guest star today, so let’s go to this week’s luncheon destination and see exactly who this special guest star is!

Bar Number 84: One World Cafe, Friday, April 3, 2026

Our Friday lunch destination is One World Cafe. I never noticed the logo on the back of the building till today. You see something new every day!

Okay, let’s go in and see what’s happening. in here on this Friday afternoon.

There’s the front host station where you wait to be seated, but we don’t need to wait because we’re headed to the back of this room to…

The bar! And I think that’s our special guest star seated there…

It’s my friend, Chelsie Tamms and she’s looking fantastic as always! Chelsie lives in Chicago but was in Peoria for a First Friday event and took time to meet up for lunch.

Chelsie is the owner and operator of her graphic design business, Lettering Works and she’s celebrating ten years in business this year! I met Chelsie shortly after she started her business and posted this blog about Chelsie and Lettering works back in February of 2017. I can’t believe it’s been ten years! Cheers to Chelsie for being in business for a decade!

Chelsie started Lettering Works here in Peoria and moved to Chicago in 2019.

Congratulations on ten years in business, Chelsie and cheers to many more years of success!

Tony was the friendly bartender on duty and here he is delvering me a Pabst Blue Ribbon tallboy!

Since I became friends with Chelsie shortly after she started Lettering Works, that means it’s also been ten years that Chelsie and I have been friends! She brought some cards she designed and let me choose one to commemorate this ten year friendship anniversary! That was so nice! She brought an envelope and hand-lettered it at the bar for me!

I chose the “Pause” card because It’s something I should try and do more in life. The back of the card commemorates Lettering Works ten years in business and Chelsie also gave me these two cool stickers she designed.

This was so nice and I love them!

Tony took our lunch orders, which means I’ll take a few photos while that’s being prepared. Here’s a shot from the other end of the bar and there’s the back of the bar.

There’s a nice dining patio outside, it’s still a little chilly to dine out here, but in a week or so it should be good to go!

There’s the main dining room with tables, big wooden booths and I love the clocks from around the world up there.

Meanwhile, back at the bar…

I got a salad and a cup of Mac ‘n Cheese and Chelsie got a breakfast pizza.

The food was tasty and amazing, as it always is here at One World!

After lunch Chelsie showed me a design she created for a One World t-shirt when she had just started her business ten years ago! How cool that it’s still for sale in here a decade later!
