It’s a special night tonight, we’re breaking into double digits! I’ve made it ten nights in a row and I thought we’d celebrate with a couple of specialty cocktails and when it comes to specialty cocktails, I know just the place to go!

Bar Number Ten: Nightjar - Monday, January 19, 2026

Here we are at Nightjar, a specialty cocktail and craft beer bar in downtown Peoria on State Street.

Let’s go in and see what’s happening in here!

Check it out, this place has such a warm and inviting atmosphere to it!

Let’s take a seat at the magnificent bar in here and get settled in!

Jessie was bartending and she mixed and served me up one of their specialty cocktails.

This is a cocktail called, “TenTo One” and it’s made with gin, parfait amour, blueberry, rosemary, lemon and egg white. It was so delicious and had a wonderful unique flavor to it!

Tim and his wife were seated at the bar and it was his birthday! Happy birthday, Tim! Tim manages his family-run business, Vonderheide Floor Coverings Co.

We had a nice chat and it was wonderful to meet him and his camera-shy wife. Happy Birthday, Tim!

The bar in here is quite impressive! I love the polished wooden look to it!

And they have a large inventory of mixes and alcohol for their specialty cocktails.

Here’s the beers on tap and in a second I’ll show you where the numbered taps are on display.

There’s a chalk board opposite the bar and there’s the draft beer chart I promised to show you! See, I don’t break my promises here!

There’s communal tables opposite the bar with a nice view of State Street in downtown Peoria.

They have an in-house five barrel brewery in here and you can read all about it and the beers they brew in here by clicking right here, right now!

There’s more wooden tables in this dining and drinking area in the back of the bar.

In addition to the craft beer and specialty cocktails, they also have homemade pizza, pretzel bites, hummus, spinach dip and pub cheese to snack on while enjoying drinks in here.

Meanwhile, back at the bar…

I enjoyed my second cocktail in here which was actually a mocktail.

It’s their Lucky Live Hawaii drink which is a tropical N/A blend. It’s made with lime, orgeat and topped with a passion fruit foam. It was so delicious and such a unique flavor!
