Sunday Links: Midnight Cowboy Turns 56 - Plus The MBIP Coming Attractions!

by MBIP

The groundbreaking film, “Midnight Cowboy” was released on May 25, 1969, making it 56-years-old just a couple of weeks ago.

This was a popular but controversial movie back then because it dealt with not only straight sex, but homosexual sex and that got it an X-rating back then. It ended up winning three Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director, making it the only X-Rated film in history to have won the Best Picture Academy Award.

Below are six links to articles and a video on this iconic film starring Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight.

Then, as always, there’s the MBIP Coming Attractions for next week!
