Sunday Links: Rubber Soul - Plus: The MBIP Coming Attractions!

by MBIP

The album, Rubber Soul by The Beatles was a such a groundbreaking album. It was the first album that was written entirely by the band and it was the start of The Beatles and other bands seeing that an album could be a true work of art from the cover to the songs included on it. Before Rubber Soul, albums were mainly a collection of a few hits and then filled up with cover songs and quick filler tunes.

They started recording it 60 years ago in October of 1965 and it was released in December of that same year.

Below are six links to online articles about this historical record and a link to a video clip about the album. And then there’s the MBIP Coming Attractions as to what’s happening on the blog next week. So there!

My friends, NOION Cities (Jackie and Andy) have a fabulous new song out called, “Secret Sound.” It’s a fantastic and catchy original tune loosely inspired by the song, “Somebody To Love” by Queen. NOION Cities took this inspiration and made a wonderful new and original song out of it!

I’ve listened to it over and over and you can too by clicking on this link: Secret Sound and you can also listen to it on their YouTube Channel.

The song’s arwork is by Ed Galloway and you can follow them on facecrack by clicking here.
