Last Friday was the 65th anniversary of the Clutter family murders. This horrific murder scene that happened in a rural community just outside of Holcomb, Kansas ended up inspiring Truman Capote to write a non-fiction novel that started a whole new genre of non-fiction writing. The novel was titled, “In Cold Blood” and it took Capote six years to complete it.
The book was later adapted into a movie in 1967 starring Robert Blake and Scott Wilson.
The book was also a key part of a movie made about Truman Capote starring Philip Seymour Hoffman that came out in 2005.
Below are six links to online articles about the murder of the Clutter family, the book and the movie. There’s also two links to videos for the In Cold Blood movie and another to the Capote film starring Philip Seymour Hoffman.
And then there’s the MBIP Coming Attractions, but there’s not a whole lot of attractions happening this week. Scroll on down to find out why!
