Last week I got this comment on my facecrack post about last week’s grilled cheese sandwich from the Storm Shelter:
Well, that’s a pretty bold statement from Stephanie, so this week we’re headed to Nat’s Place in Chillicothe!
Off we go to Chillicothe, we have a mystery driver who’s been silhouetted by the sunshine. Keep on scrolling to find out his identity!
Signpost ahead…Nat’s Place, let’s follow the arrow…
To Nat’s Place in Chillicothe.
Wow, this is an impressive looking building, let’s go inside and start this week’s cheesy adventure!
Nat’s Place has an impressive gift section, but we’ll start off in the dining area and I think I see our mystery driver over there at the bar studying the menu…
It’s my friend, Steven Marx! This is Steven’s second time on this grilled cheese journey, he joined us back in March when we went to the Coffee Can Bistro. Great to have him along this week.
We checked out the menu and then Jessica brought us an iced tea, took our order while flashing a beautiful smile.
They have not one, but two grilled cheese sandwiches on the menu, so we ordered both of them!
They have a lot of coffee and tea selections and here’s the menu on the wall.
There’s also a cool Alice in Wonderland illustration and a Talking Heads inspired piece of art on the back wall. Very cool!
They have a large selection of gifts in the room opposite the dining area.
My favorite was the Housewives of Chillicothe pillow!
Meanwhile, back at the bar…
The grilled cheese sandwiches have arrived!
The top one is the Ritz Grilled Cheese which is white cheddar cheese with cranberry, honey and walnuts on Multi Grain bread.
Below is the Ultimate Grilled Cheese which has white cheddar, cheddar cheese, Gruyere with a secret spread consisting of mayo and mustard on sourdough bread.
They’re both interesting blends of flavors and quite original grilled cheese creations!
Steven and I each took one half of the sandwiches so we could sample both styles.
There’s Steven digging in and he said he was impressed by both sandwiches and declared them both very delicious!
I started off with the Ritz grilled cheese and I have to confess being a little apprehensive of the cranberries in the sandwich, but they melted and were more of a sweet jelly that mixed with the melted cheddar very well. The honey and walnuts also added a sweet and crunchy element to this sandwich.
Quite a unique take on a grilled cheese sandwich!
We ordered bacon on the Ultimate Grilled Cheese, but they forgot to put it on, but Jessica saved the day by bringing us each an order of bacon to add to the sandwiches.
The smoky bacon tasted great with the three cheese melted mix housed in toasted and buttered sourdough bread.
Very tasty and satisfying!
