Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, Jazzy’s Eatery and featuring special guest stars, Matt, Madeline and Kelly!
Now, please welcome this week’s host, Jazzy’s Eatery!
Here we are at Peoria’s newest restaurant, Jazzy’s Eatery on Prospect Road.
We have two special guest stars meeting us tonight, so let’s go in and see if we can find them!
Wow, it looks nice in here. You place your order over there at the front counter.
When I got there I met the owner of Jazzy’s Eatery, Kelly Jackson.
Kelly said they’ve only been open a few weeks, but business and people’s reactions to the food and atmosphere have all been positive. She said owning and operating a restaurant is a lot of work, but it’s also a life-long dream come true!
Here’s the menu on the wall and as you can see, Jazzy’s has some unique entrees and flavors going on here.
They also just started featuring a line of Korean Corndogs, but since we just had a corndog last week, we’ll come back and try one of those later.
I placed my order and now time to let our Saturday Night begin!
As I gazed out to the dining room, I ran into our two special guest stars for the evening, Matt and his daughter Madeline.
They’ve both been on the blog several times in the past and Madeline has really grown quite a bit since the last time we got together.
Matt said they’re doing great and having a wonderful summer!
They just placed their dinner order too, so while we wait for the food, I’ll take a few pictures in here with the MBIP Camera.
In tandem with the name, Jazzy’s Eatery, they have jazzy art in here with fun art prints of a guitar and a saxophone and even a jazzed up cheeseburger!
I love the framed photo of the Peoria skyline and there’s the Jazzy’s logo emblazoned on the entire back wall.
These signs reminded me of one thing…
We’re here to eat our Saturday night dinner, so let’s return to our table and see what’s happening over there.
Kelly kindly gave us a complimentary Korean style corndog to start our meal off and there’s Matt cutting off some pieces for us.
It was a Cheetos Flamin’ Hot Corndog and it was so delicious. The outer breading is covered with a coating of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and there’s melted cheese and of course a hot dog inside.
What a delicious and unique take on a corndog, we’re off to a fantastic start tonight!
We started off with an appetizer order of the chips and beer cheese and they’re done in a nacho style with house made tortilla chips.
The beer cheese is rich, creamy and so tasty and the chips and cheese are topped with savory and smoky bacon chunks which takes this appetizer over the top into the land of fabulous eats!
Now on to the main courses!
Madeline got the Chicken Tenders and fries and Matt went with the Bacon and Beer Cheese Burger with a side of cole slaw.
All the food is made from scratch and looks amazing
Both Matt and Madeline raved about their dinners!
I got the Kim Chi Burger which Kelly suggested.
I also got an order of the Cajun Fries and dipped them into a tub of the beer cheese and they were delicious.
The fries are hand-cut and the Cajun seasoning had just the right amount of heat and creole seasoning and were complimented perfectly by the rich and creamy beer cheese.
Per Kelly’s recommendation, I got the Kim Chi Burger and this is probably the most unique burger in Peoria and beyond.
Here’s the mind-blowing ingredients: Ghost Pepper Cheese, Pulled Pork, Fried Egg, Sweet Chili Sauce, Spicy Kim Chi and of course an All Beef Hamburger Patty. And this monster of a burger is housed in a bakery fresh bun.
It was rough to get a grip on, but I managed and this is one tasty and unique burger. There’s so much flavor bursting through and the different textures, this is like an entire, flavor-filled buffet within one burger!
The food here is amazing and they’ve only just opened so I can’t wait to come back and try more!
Right now the hours are 11am to 7pm, Tuesday through Saturday.
Kelly said she hopes to expand the hours to a little later in the evening, as time moves on and she’s working on getting some gaming machines as well as beer and wine in the upcoming months.
This was a wonderful Saturday night feast and thanks to Kelly for the hospitality and delicious food!
Thanks to Madeline and Matt for joining me, wonderful to see them, as always!
