This is a big week because we’re in the land of double digits as we head into our tenth week of eating grilled cheese sandwiches.
I haven’t been to Brasky’s Bar & Grill for a while and I noticed that they have a grilled cheese on their menu.
That can only mean one thing…it’s off to Brasky’s for this week’s cheesy adventure!
Here we are at Brasky’s Bar & Grill. I’ve done several blogs here at Brasky’s through the years, but I’ve never had their grilled cheese sandwich.
All of that changes today!
We have a special grilled cheese guest this week, but he’s not here yet, so I snagged a table and got an iced tea from our cute and friendly waitress, Alicia.
Moments later our grilled cheese guest star has arrived! It’s none other than my friend and former co-worker at Fleming Potter, Mike Starcevic!
These days Mike works for the Peoria Chiefs and I’m hoping to join him at the ballpark in June! Always great to see Mike and hang out with him!
Mike’s an artist and check out the painting he created for Meanwhile Back In Peoria! Too cool and that’s going to be hung in the MBIP office where another piece of Mike’s artwork is hanging right now.
Thanks, Mike, fantastic painting and I love it!
As I scanned the menu I found what they call their “Adult Grilled Cheese.”
It’s got three kinds of cheese, smoky bacon on Texas Toast!
I can’t wait to try this out!
We got an appetizer order of their corn fritters to start our lunch out and they were so tasty and sweet!
Crispy orbs on the outside and light and fluffy inside. A wonderful start to our lunch!
There’s the bar up in the front of the room and six beers on tap.
Kendra was the pretty bartender on duty this afternoon.
There’s a gaming area right next to the bar and there’s the specials and live music listed on this board.
Meanwhile, back at our table…
It’s grilled cheese time!
You get one side order with the sandwich and Mike got the onion rings and I got an order of cole slaw.
Those giganzo onion rings are hiding Mike’s sandwich!
There’s Mike tearing into those onion rings. He said they were fantastic!
And here’s my Adult Grilled Cheese sandwich and it looks absolutely fabulous!
But before we dig into that, let’s try the…
Cole slaw!
It was crisp, tart with just a hint of sweetness and very tasty!
Now on to the main course and the star of this week’s post…
The Adult Grilled Cheese sandwich at Brasky’s Bar & Grill!
They use three kinds of cheese: American, Swiss and Pepper Jack, there’s a generous amount of Applewood Smoked Bacon slices and it’s housed in buttered and grilled Texas Toast.
This is a fabulous grilled cheese! The three cheeses make for a rich and creamy mixture that’s nicely complimented by the smoky bacon and the buttery grilled Texas Toast.
A fabulous grilled cheese sandwich!
