Musician Sarah Marie Dillard has started a local musical revolution here in Peoria and she’s growing it one room and one Tuesday night at a time.
Sarah Marie Dillard has taken the words “going mobile” to a new level here in Peoria. She’s created her own rolling open mic revue, where the equipment, lights and talent come to you. All you have to provide is the room. The rest is taken care of for you.
This is a great thing for bars and entertainment venues in the area because these events happen on a Tuesday night, a notoriously slow night and what comes along with Sarah’s portable open mic night is at least ten to fifteen entertainers all of whom most likely will bring some friends with them. That translates into an audience of at least 30 to 50 people, all of whom are going to buy drinks and food while enjoying this entertaining open mic show.
If you’re looking for a fun show to attend, these shows don’t have any cover charges and you can see a wide array of local musical stylings live on stage. This is a traveling musical rolling thunder revue where everyone wins…well, except for Sarah, she’s got to lug all the equipment around! But you’ll never hear her complain about it!

Here we are at the the VFW Peoria Heights #2602. The concert is taking place in this back room and there’s a full bar in here. They also have a taco special tonight!
There’s the host of the rolling “Listening Room” concert series, Sarah Marie Dillard.
She’s looking great as always and said she’s been getting wonderful feedback from people regarding this traveling open mic Tuesday night shows!
I love it, I’m glad people are supporting this unique and fun weekly musical experience!
There’s Sarah starting to get things set up for the evening.
Trey and Ryle are scheduled to be onstage for the show tonight, so keep your eyes open up for them.
Craig Collins came out to see the show with his lovely wife, Bety.
Craig is the host of The Craig Collins show on WMBD Radio and he’s had Sarah on the show to talk about the “Listening Room” series and perform live in the WMBD studios.

The “Listening Room” Mobile Mic Concert @: VFW Peoria Heights @2602
The stage looks great and the show is off to a wonderful start!
Each performer’s set is two to three songs.
It’s fun and entertaining to hear the different styles of music each musician brings to the stage.
What a fun night and this is the perfect venue for it.
I know Kirk and he’s a veteran writer from the PJ Star who has started a new career as a singer and songwriter. He’s playing out quite a bit and you should seek his shows out when you can!
Sarah joined Paula onstage for her set and it sounded fabulous!
Quite an eclectic night of music and the crowd is loving it!
This concert series is a wonderful showcase for all the local musical talent out there!
If you’re a musician, you should definitely check it out and if you’re a music fan this is a venue you definitely want to start following around town!
