Okay, we’re in the second month of the Baker’s Dozen cookie tour where I’m eating and then reviewing one cookie a month for 13 months.
This month’s post falls into the category of two different things: 1. Nothing’s easy and 2. The third time’s a charm.
Are you wondering what the hell I’m talking about here?
Well, just follow along and you’ll find out!

First Stop: Crumbl Cookies
Even though I don’t usually go to chains, I decided to go to Crumbl Cookies on Sterling Avenue where they just opened up a bit ago. They’ve been in East Peoria for a while and have been wildly successful. I thought it would be fun to try them out on this cookie tour, so I stopped by.
When I walked in the door I had a Charles Manson flashback because the fun ceased to exist.
They were really nice when I explained about my blog and the cookie tour, but got a little skittish when I brought up taking pictures and putting them on the internet. One of them told me that the GM would be back shortly and she’d be the one to talk to.
That was fine, I had an errand to run, so I told them I’d be back in about a half an hour and they said that would be great.
So I left, came back and talked to the GM and she said that I’d first have to send her an email explaining me blog and what I wanted to do, so she could send it to the corporate office to get it okayed.
Again, she was super nice, so I said I would, I took her card and then thought about the hassle of sending an email so some corporate weasel could okay it and decided just to go somewhere else the next day.
This is one of the reasons I avoid chains like I wish I could’ve avoided the pandemc!
Oh and one more thing regarding the spelling the first word in their name, six words: “I’d like to buy a vowel.”

Second Stop: Cookies By Design
So that was Tuesday, I planed on putting this post up on Thursday, so I went home to figure out another place to go and get a cookie at.
I came hom and remembered I went to Cookies By Design on Main Street years ago. I went and checked to see if they were still in business and they were, so I decided this would be the next cookie stop.
They were nice people the last time I stopped in, so I was looking forward to this return visit over nine years later!
So I get there on a Wednesday afternoon and after I took the outside shot I was a little concerned because it appeared all of the lights were off.
I went and tried the door and it was locked up.
Then I saw a note on the door asking Fed-Ex & UPS to call them if there’s deliveries.
So they’re closed up for whatever reason. Shit! Now it’s after 1pm on a Wednesday, I have a doctor’s appointment in about an hour at an OSF building downtown and a bunch of stuff to do after that. I’m pretty pressed for time and I’m hoping I don’t have to take a day off from the blog because of this.
I need to get a cookie for Thursday’s post and then all of a sudden a light bulb went off over my head and three words went through my mind…Jack’s On Adams!
He’s just around the corner and when I filmed a wing episode a while back he supplied me with a delicious chocolate chip cookie! Hopefully he’s still making them. Let’s head around the corner and find out!

Finally…A Baker’s Dozen Stop @: Jack’s On Adams!
Okay, here we are at Jack’s On Adams, hey check out the new beer patio he’s put in!
This will be a fun spot when it warms up! I’ll come back and report on it when the temperatures start rising up!
But for now, let’s head inside and see if we can get a much-needed cookie inside!
Here we are inside, let’s belly-up to the bar and see if there’s a cookie available in here.
James and Corina were behind the bar looking very pretty and they said that I could have a Jack’s Skillet Cookie within minutes.
Great news! Let’s take a few photos in here while it’s being prepared!
Jack told me on my last visit in here that he’s preparing this “Peoria Proud” wall to feature other Peoria businesses. I thought that was a cool idea for him to spotlight other places in Peoria!
So far he’s got Schooner’s, Country Club BBQ, The Getaway and Born Paint Company. Hmmm…I wonder how he got Born Paint to be a part of this? Cue inside joke alert!
Here’s another shot of the dining room, the front stage for the live music in here and there’s the Devon McGlone chalk art drawing of Jack’s On Adams that I love!
Wow, check this out, Jack’s On Adams now has its own gaming room over here!
There’s a half dozen machines in here for all of you gamblers out there! Very cool! Jack’s is ever-evolving, every time I come here there’s something new happening!
Meanwhile, back at the bar, James has the skillet cookie all ready to be served up!
She called out Justin, who’s the chef who prepared it.
Great to meet him and now it’s time to start…

The Second Baker’s Dozen Cookie Extravaganza Here On MBIP @: Jack’s on Adams!
Wow, this skillet cookie looks amazing!
This was such a great an unplanned cookie!
It took two bad stops to lead to this but man was it worth it!
Jack’s makes this cookie from scratch, adds fresh vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce and it’s a sweet and tasty treat!
The cookie is baked fresh, so it’s served up warm and perfectly counteracts the rich ice cream and chocolate syrup on top!
It’s a wonderful cookie dessert and you need to stop in and try one with your lunch or dinner at Jack’s On Adams today or tonight!
Thanks to James, Corina and Justin for a sweet treat and a fun afternoon at Jack’s On Adams!
