Today we’re having lunch in Hopedale, Illinois at a fairly new restaurant called, Micki's Farm to Table. This place was suggested to me by…
My friend Virgil Hargrove who is also driving us there! It’s a beautiful day for a trip to Hopedale, Illinois, a neighboring town that I’ve never been to!
Here we are at Micki’s Farm to Table on Main Street in beautiful Hopedale, Illinois! I love their sign on the side of the building!
Virgil leads the way in to start our luncheon adventure!
The foyer has a wall of license plates, there’s the specials for the day and evening and let’s go in and check this place out!
Wow, it’s really nice in here and I love the dining room and bar! We’ll have more photos in a minute, but here’s Virgil settled in at our table.
Virgil owns and operates his own business, Medical Resources Group Limited. It’s a specialty medical distribution company that specializes in surgery, cardiology, sterile processing and they have a special interest in surgery of the hand.
He’s run this business for over 25 years and they moved into a new facility in Morton in 2021.
Check out this video of the transformation of a Pizza Hut building into what is now Medical Resources Group Limited.
Very cool, now back to lunch at Micki’s!
Speaking of Micki, here’s the owner of Micki’s, Micki Gayon posing with Yours Fooly! Micki said they opened up last year and they’ve been doing a great business in here! It was great to meet her!
Micki took our luncheon order, now let’s go take a look around in here.
The bar is massive and very impressive! I love the lit up blue section on the top of the wooden bar!
Right after I took those photos our luncheon appetizer showed up at the table: Homemade onion rings.
These were so delicious, very light and fluffy and flavorful. They came with a side of homemade ranch which was really tasty!
I love the way the dining room is decorated in here with all of the wood and the unique urban design!
There’s a discreet gaming room over here for all of you gamblers out there!
Meanwhile back at the table, Micki’s delivering our lunch, perfect timing!
Virgil got the tenderloin sandwich and fries and I got a hot ham and cheese sandwich with fries. The food looks fantastic. I think we’re in for a great lunch!
Virgil raved about his tenderloin and said it was a tasty treat!
If you like tenderloins, check out this video that recaps a tenderloin tour from my YouTube video channel, The Midwest Slice Of Life.
This hot ham and cheese sandwich looks simply incredible!
It’s got thick slices of fresh ham and a couple different styles of melted cheese including cheddar and Swiss. It’s housed between two thick slices of bakery-fresh marble rye bread.
It came with a side of homemade honey mustard sauce, so I dunked the sandwich in and it was nothing short of fantastic!
The ham was savory and delicious and it was balanced out so well with the rich and creamy cheese. The bread was so fresh and the homemade honey mustard sauce added to the wonderful flavor and took it up to a flavor notch that was unbelievable!
Everything here is homemade and I’m definitely coming back for more tasty treats at Micki’s Farm to Table restaurant!
It’s well worth the trip to Hopdale, Illinois, which is less than a half an hour away from Peoria, so you should definitely check this place out! They’re open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11am to 11pm, so try this place out for a weekend lunch or dinner, you won’t be sorry!
Thanks to Micki for the great service and food and thanks to Virgil for driving and being this week’s luncheon guest star!
