Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, Saffron Social and featuring special guest stars, Sarrah, Keyton, Mike, Joy, Kleshia and Robert.

Now please welcome this week’s host from beautiful downtown Peoria, Saffron Social!

Here we are at Saffron Social in downtown Peoria. This is one of Peoria’s newest restaurant’s, it just opened up its doors in September.

Let’s go in and see what’s happening here on this wonderful Saturday evening in November!

This is the front foyer and while it’s hard to read that neon sign in this photo, I’ll reveal what it says at the end of this post, so keep on scrolling!

The bar!

I’m dining alone this evening, so I thought I’d sit at the bar and this is quite an impressive bar area indeed!

I’ll have more photos of it soon, but for now, let’s settle in, get a drink and place our dinner order.

Keyton was one of the friendly bartenders on duty and he quickly served me up a drink and took this week’s Saturday night dinner order.

We’re off to a spectacular start to the Saturday evening out on the town!

Mike saw me taking photos and came over and introduced himself.

He’s the General Manager of Saffron and he said that business has been great and everyone is enjoying this wonderful new addition to downtown Peoria.

Joy was also on bartending duty and it was great to see her again! This is her third time appearing on the blog and she’s looking pretty as always!

It was great to chat and catch up with her!

I promised you more photos of this spectacular bar area and here you are. I love the dark and elegant atmosphere in here!

There’s tables opposite the bar and these large photos in the hallway are very cool.

Here’s the dining areas in the front of the restaurant. In addition to dining tables, there’s also large comfortable booth seating. Very nice!

Meanwhile, back at the bar, it looks like Saturday night dining time is just about to start!

I started off my meal with an order of the French onion soup and a side salad.

The French onion soup was topped with a layer of rich melted cheese and there was grilled bread inside of the savory onion broth. It was delicious and a wonderful start to the Saturday night dinner.

The side salad had homemade croutons and it was a nice mix of fresh greens topped with a balsamic salad dressing.

What a tasty and delicious beginning of our Saturday night dinner at Saffron Social!

And now on to the star of the show, the main course which was the six ounce filet topped with caramelized onions and sauteed mushrooms.

The steak was cooked to perfection and it was so tender and delicious! The caramelized onions and mushrooms added another level of flavor and this was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had!

What a wonderful Saturday night meal this was! Cheers to Saffron Social for a fabulous meal and Saturday night evening in downtown Peoria!

After dinner, Kleshia and her husband Robert came over and said hello. Kleshia was our server at a Christmas Eve get together at Chili’s from a few years ago and it was great to see her again and meet her husband, Robert!

Everyone here is so friendly and this was such a fun Saturday night at Saffron Social!
