Live, From Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, Rizzi’s Italian Restaurant and featuring special guests, Amber, Joe, Marilyn, Bekim and Gigi.
Now please welcome this week’s Saturday Night host, Rizzi’s Italian Restaurant!
Here we are at Rizzi’s Italian Restaurant on Sheridan Road. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Peoria!
There’s the main dining room and comfortable booths line both walls of the restaurant.
I think I see two familiar faces in that last booth on the right…
It’s frequent Saturday Night guest stars, my friends, Amber and Joe!
It’s always fun to have them along for our Saturday Night dinner and they’re both looking fabulous as always!
Here they are checking out the menu and the MBIP Camera kind of blurred this photo out…but what are you going to do?
Sometimes I hate the MBIP Camera…Hate, Hate, HATE it!
Marilyn came over and took our dinner orders. She’s a veteran here at Rizzi’s and is the friendliest waitress in town with a beautiful smile!
Bekim, who’s the owner of Rizzi’s along with his wife, Sindis came over and said hi.
Bekim is a great guy and it was nice to catch up with him. He said business has been great at Rizzi’s.
It’s a family affair here at Rizzi’s and to prove this point…
Here’s the family wall!
Bekim’s parents, Dave and Lauren Rizvani were the original owners and now the restaurant is owned and run by Bekim and his wife, Sindis pictured below with their children.
If you follow them on facecrack, you’ll see updates and specials in videos starring Sindis!
Here’s some wine and the sign at the top points you to…
The bar!
They have a nice and well-stocked bar in here and there’s Gigi serving up a drink. Cheers to whoever that went to!
Meanwhile, back at our booth…
Our Saturday night dinner is starting to arrive!
We started out with a Crispy Mozzarella appetizer.
These are Mozzarella orbs that are deep-fried with a Panko Crust and they were absolutely delicious.
They were super crispy on the outside, the Panko Crust was seasoned perfectly and the melted mozzarella was so rich and creamy. A decadent delight for sure!

After the appetizer, Joe got a salad and Amber and I each had the soup special but I forgot to take pictures, so use your imagination for this portion of the evening. It’ll be good for you to exercise that imagination muscle…trust me!
For our main courses, Joe got the evening’s special dish which was two blackened and seasoned chicken breasts served with pasta in a pesto cream sauce.
Amber got the Tortellini Michaelangelo, which is served in a creamy parmesan sauce with prosciutto, mushrooms and peas.
Both Amber and Joe said the dishes were beyond delicious and were absolutely fabulous!
I got the sausage and peppers and it was a tasty delight.
The sausage was savory and flavorful and it was served with mostaccioli, fresh bell peppers, mushrooms and onions in a rich and zesty marinara sauce.
This is Italian comfort food at it’s most finest and flavorful hour!
What a delicious Saturday night dinner!
Thanks to everyone at Rizzi’s for a wonderful Saturday night dinner and thanks to Amber and Joe for joining me for a wonderul Saturday night out on the town. It’s always more fun when those two are along!
We’ll see you all tomorrow!
