Live, from Peoria, Illinois it’s Saturday Afternoon starring Alwan and Sons Lunch Grill and featuring three people who’s name’s I didn’t get because there was a huge line behind me.
And now, please welcome this week’s host, Alwan and Sons Lunch Grill!
Since today is Memorial Day, I thought it would be appropriate to go to Alwan and Sons Lunch Grill for this week’s Saturday meal.
That means a rare afternoon Saturday meal and here we are at Alwan and Sons Meat Co. I love the cow on the side of the building! He never moooooves.
It’s currently 12:17pm on a lovely Saturday afternoon and the Lunch Grill is open. Let’s go and take a gander at the grill.
What a beauty of a grill and the man working it is truly a first class grill master! The food looks spectacular, so let’s go get in line!
Wow, a lot of other people had the same idea as me, the line is huge!
Let’s check out the menu while we wait in line. I think I’ll try the Hot Polish Sausage sandwich, I’ve never had that before and for two bucks, it’s quite a bargain! The prices here are really a great deal!
The line moves incredibly fast!
Once I got up to the ordering station I snapped a photo of the three workers that keep it moving along. I didn’t have time to get their names, because there was a long line behind me and they had to keep things moving.
But thanks for the great and speedy service!
I stopped at the Bill’s Lemonade station for a freshly squeezed lemonade.
Now over to the condiments table. I slathered on some mustard…I love it when I can work the word, “slathered” in a post, by the way.
I also loaded up on freshly-chopped onions as well.
There’s picnic tables that line the side of the building, but those were all filled up, so I wandered over to these tables which are near the back parking lot and settled in with my afternoon meal.
For my side dish I got an order of their freshly-made pasta.
It was a delicious start to this afternoon Saturday meal.
Now it’s time to feature the star of this show, the Hot Polish Sausage!
It looks heavenly, let’s dig in!
Wow, this is one tasty sandwich!
The bun is bakery fresh and the Hot Polish Sausage had a nice savory and sharp flavor and just the right amount of heat.
The mustard and fresh onions are the perfect condiments and this was a delicious Saturday afternoon lunch!
Thanks to everyone at Alwan and Sons Lunch Cart for a fantastic meal and Saturday afternoon!
Happy Memorial Day, everyone!
