Live, from Peoria, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, Lou’s Drive-In and featuring special guests, Natalie, Bri and Josie!
Now please welcome, on their opening night of the 2022 season…Lou’s Drive-In!
Here we are at Lou’s Drive-In, this is the legendary sign and here’s…
The legendary root beer served up by Natalie Vonachen who’s worked here for six years.
She’s been featured on the blog many times and this year she even made it on to TV, check that out here!
The root beer was unbelievable as always and Natalie took my dinner order and so now it’s time to…
Leave my spot at the Lou’s island, but I’ve marked my territory with my root beer so no one will move in on my space.
Here’s some shots of the Lou’s island inside of the parking area. I love the signage that surrounds it!
There’s a couple ordering up and there’s the menu and kitchen window inside of the Lou’s island.
As you can see, it’s a busy night for the Lou’s girls and there’s the popular popcorn machine in action!
Bri originally brought me my order and she was soon joined by Josie. Both have been featured on the blog in the past and it was great to see both of them again!
Seeing myself as a car made me think of this ‘60’s show that was the ultimate flop.
Here’s a bag’s-eye-view of my meal and there’s the unwrapped meal at my spot on Lou’s Island.
Let’s dig in and sample this wonderful and tempting meal!
For a starter, I got the chili-cheese fries and they were crisp, rich, savory and delicious!
I also got a cheeseburger, which I don’t think I’ve ever ordered from Lou’s. I usually get the hotdog, but this was a great looking selection!
I got it with bacon, onion and mustard and it looks fantastic!
Oh boy, this was such a tasty burger and then I had a brain-storm, one that rarely hits me…
Why not pour some of that cheese and chili right on to the cheeseburger?
Well I did and it turned it into an amazing treat!
Another amazing and beautiful dinner at Lou’s Drive-In!
It’s open for the season, so stop by and support this legendary Peoria drive-in!

And we’ll leave with one last shot of Natalie who’s going to be leaving Lou’s after six years of service here. I’ve had the pleasure of taking her picture for the last three years and always having a nice conversation with her.
Thanks to Natalie and all of the Lou’s staff for a fun evening at the 2022 season opening. I’ll definitely be back for more, so stay tuned! Good luck, Natalie!
