I’ve never had a Papa Murphy’s Take ’N’ Bake Pizza, the concept always seemed a little weird to me. You pick the pizza up but then you have to cook it. I get it that it’s fresher than a frozen pizza, but I just never wanted to bother with the cooking aspect of it. It seems a little goofy to me.
I’m coming up to the end of this pizza pie tour and since I’ve never been there, I thought I’d give it a try, so it’s onwards and somewhat upwards to Papa Murphy’s we go!
Here we are at Papa Murphy’s. It’s located in a strip mall on University Street.
I stepped in and was presented with my take ‘n’ bake pizza pie which I ordered online.
I also got a little mystery item for dessert that I’ll reveal when we’re back at the new MBIP World Headquarters, Mach IV.
And whoosh, through the miracle of these here interwebs, we’re back at the new MBIP World Headquarters, Mach IV with our freshly made Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N’ Bake pizza pie.
The cooking instructions say to pre-heat the oven to 425 degrees, so that’s what I’ve done. Everything is moving along perfectly on schedule, I love that!
I unwrapped the pizza, the oven is pre-heated to the suggested 425 degrees and so into the oven it goes.
Here’s the mystery dessert item I mentioned earlier, it’s a cinnamon wheel and I’m very excited about the possibilities of this!
Alright, the pizza is done and I took it out of the oven. It looks like a decent pizza pie.
Now we’ll put the aforementioned cinnamon wheel into the oven to cook while we sample this week’s take ‘n’ bake pizza!
My friends Amber and Joe gave me this pizza slicer with the name of the YouTube Channel that my friend Dan and I are producing. You can check that out by clicking here and thanks to Amber and Joe for the thoughtful and cool present.
Let’s put it to work!
Alright, the pizza is cut and now we’ll let it cool for a few minutes.
While it cools, check out this video from a comedian who kind of shares my point of view about take ‘n’ bake pizzas.
I have to agree with his thoughts on take ‘n’ bake pizza.
The pizza is pretty good, the sauce has a nice flavor and the cheese is rich and plentiful.
The crust isn’t as thin and crispy as I like it, so they lose a few points for that.
The cinnamon wheel looks fantastic and I’m pretty excited about this! Let’s cut it up and let it cool a little bit.
It comes with a tub of sweet cream cheese that you warm up for a minute in the microwave and then pour it over the cinnamon wheel.
I think this is going to be fan-fucking-tastic!
Oh my god, this is so sweet and delicious!
The warm cinnamon mixes nice with the rich sweet cream and the dough is a nice soft base for this dessert treat! I was excited for this and it did not disappoint!

THIS WEEK’S RATING
——
The Rating System
Any rating from 0 to 5.9 is a substandard pizza that you should definitely avoid.
A rating from 6 to 8.5 is a good pizza and gets the MBIP pizza pie recommendation.
A rating from 8.6 to 9.4 means the pizza is very high quality and you need to try it out as soon as you can.
Ratings from 9.5 to 10 represent the best pizzas in Peoria (in my opinion).
——
The pizza was okay, but nothing special and the crust wasn’t as thin and crispy as I like it.
I still don’t get the appeal of the whole take ‘n’ bake idea. I’d rather just eat the pizza in a restaurant, or have them cook it and I’ll get it to go.
