I just noticed while perusing the online menu at Dac’s Smokehouse in Campustown, that they’re featuring a line of chicken called, “Corporate Chicken,” with a sub-heading that reads: “This Chicken Means Business.”
The chicken comes in three styles, Hot Honey Fried Chicken, Nashville Hot Fried Chicken and Sunday Driver, which is traditional crispy fried chicken.
I love fried chicken and so that sealed the deal on this week’s luncheon destination!
And we have a special luncheon guest star joining us as well, so keep on scrolling to find out who that is as we enjoy lunch at Dac’s Smokehouse in Campustown!
Here we are at Dac’s Smokehouse in Campustown.
They recently opened up another Dac’s in Morton, Illinois. Check that out here.
Okay, let’s go in and start this week’s luncheon adventure.
Okay, this week’s special guest star has arrived and we traveled that long road that leads to the front counter where you order you lunch or dinner.
There’s Luke up at the front counter, always great to see him and catch up on things!
Now it’s time to decide what to order for lunch…
Luckily these menus were close by and we quickly decided on our luncheon fare for the afternoon.
Luke rang us up and since we were there after the lunch hour, we had our choice of tables to sit at in the dining room.
And now it’s time to reveal this week’s luncheon guest star…
Jeanette’s looking great today and I love that David Bowie shirt she has on!
Jeanette’s a writer and she wrote a book celebrating the history of East Peoria in photos and text and you can check that out by clicking here.
Most recently Jeanette has been active on YouTube and host not one, but two YouTube Channels!
The Sunnyland Seller features videos that detail Jeanette’s life as a reseller in the Midwest and the interesting journey’s that this takes her on.
Her other channel is JB’s Explore & More and this features fun trips and adventures that Jeanette explores in and around the Midwest.
I highly recommend both channels and suggest you hit that “subscribe” button so you don’t miss a single episode on YouTube!
Okay, while our lunch is being prepared, let’s take a little look around in here.
Picnic styled tables line the far wall with a chalk board on the wall if you feel like leaving a message or drawing here.
There’s some of the wood used in their BBQ creations and the soft drink stand.
In addition to soft drinks, they also have beer and wine and there’s some of the beer specials on the wall.
Located discreetly in the back corner are some gaming machines if you feel lucky. Well, do ya punk?
Meanwhile, back at our table…
Lunch is served by the owner of Dac’s Smokehouse, Matthew White!
Matthew said business has been good and that they’re getting a great reaction to the Morton restaurant. I need to check that out soon.
But now…it’s lunchtime!
Jeanette got the Barbecue Nachos, which, as you can see, is a generous portion!
The Barbecue Nachos consist of, pulled pork, Queso, cotija, pico de gallo, pickled jalapeños, romaine, barbecue sauce and chipotle lime crema.
They look fabulous and Jeanette raved about the dish and said it was delicious.
I had to try the Corporate Chicken and I went with a two piece Hot Honey Fried Chicken dinner.
The dinner comes with a choice of two sides and I went with Texas Toast and a side of the Carolina Cole Slaw.
It looks so tasty, let’s dig in!
The Carolina Cole Slaw had a delightful crunch and a nice, zippy flavor to it.
This Hot Honey Corporate Fried Chicken was simply amazing!
The Hot Honey barbecue sauce was so tasty featuring just right amount of sweet and heat. The outside of the chicken was nice and crispy and inside the meat was juicy, succulent and so delicious!
I’m definitely coming back to try the other styles of this Corporate Chicken line! They weren’t lying when they said that chicken means business!
Before we left, Jeanette left a message for everyone, we were there! And we shall return!
Thanks to Luke, Matthew and everyone at Dac’s Smokehouse for a delicious and fun lunch and thanks to Jeanette for being this week’s luncheon guest star!
