I’m meeting not one, but two featured guest stars today, it’s a special day for them and one of them has a big, honking announcement to make!
Intrigued? Well then keep on scrolling and you’ll find out who they are, why this is a special day for them and then you’re going to get hit with a big, honking announcement!
You order up there at the counter and check out the contents of the refrigerated case, there’s some sweet goodies are housed in there!
There’s the wood-fired oven that makes the food so tasty in here.
They not only cook their pizzas in here, but most of the food is cooked in there giving every dish a nice wood-fired, smoky flavor!
The dining room has a nice urban feel to it with all the wood and brick decor.
There’s a room in the back where you can have a private party and shut the doors and pretend you’re better than all the people in the dining room.
Uh oh, I think our special guest stars have arrived…
It’s none other than Connie and Ken Zurski! Ken’s been featured on the blog before, but this is the first time that Connie has appeared here and it’s wonderful to have them both as guest stars and dining companions!
And, as I mentioned earlier, this is a special day for them, it’s their 19th wedding anniversary! Congratulations, Connie and Ken!
And Ken is the one with the infamous big, honking announcement. That will be revealed after lunch, so keep on scrolling people!
The menus are on this table over here, we picked them up and quickly decided on what we were going to have for this anniversary lunch!
We went up to the counter to order and this pretty and friendly woman took our order. She told me her name, but like an idiot I forgot to write it down and I don’t remember it now. We’ll just call her Sugar for the time being. If you see this, leave your name in comment here or on facecrack and I’ll update it!
This is the drink station where there’s soft drinks, tea, coffee and water. They also have a nice selection of beer and wine up at the front counter if you are in the mood to booze it up!
We chose to sit at the corner table next to the front window.
Before you know it, our food appeared. I love it when that happens!
Connie got the Mediterranean Wrap which is wood-fired Chicken, dried cherries, Mediterranean spread, lettuce and tomato housed in a sun dried tomato wrap. She also got a side salad.
Ken got a cheese pizza which is pretty self-explanatory.
These entrees look delicious!
I got the Wood-Fired Meatloaf entree and it was simply amazing!
The Meatloaf is a savory and tasty blend of beef and sausage covered with a layer of Gouda cheese and wrapped in bacon.
This is the best meatloaf I’ve ever had. It’s got a nice spicy taste with the smokey bacon and rich gouda cheese adding more layers of flavor to the dish! A truly unique twist on a meatloaf creation!
The mac and cheese was rich, creamy and delightful!
What a delicious lunch!
Ken and Connie raved about their selections as well.
What a fabulous lunch…wait a second…what’s that noise…
Why it’s the sound of a Big Honking Announcement about to happen…

Ken Zurski’s Big Honking Announcement!
Most of you probably know Ken as the Traffic Reporter for the news department at the JMP Radio Group here in Peoria.
But he’s also one of Peoria’s most prolific authors and his first book, The Wreck of the Columbia was published by Amika Press in 2012. He followed that book up in 2014 with Peoria Stories and his third book, Unremembered was released in 2018.
Due to his Unremembered book, he was recently flown out to New York by the History Channel and was interviewed for their “Built America” series and that will air sometime next year. Stay tuned for updates on Ken’s exciting appearance on national TV!
And now book number four is released!
Unremembered Book 2 has just been published and there’s the proud author holding a copy hot off of the presses!

Unremembered Book 2
Unremembered Book 2 tells the stories of actors, artists and entertainers who were once famous and inspired many others but have since been mostly forgotten.
Well, thanks to Ken’s new book, they have been brought back to life and are remembered once again and you can read their fascinating stories in Unremembered Book 2.
The interesting and unique tales of over 20 people who changed the world of art and entertainment are told within the pages of this book and though Ken’s writing, they are alive again and the tales of their original art and entertainment are told and shared with the reader.
These are interesting stories of influencers before the word “influencer” was ever coined.
They were somewhat ahead of their time, inspired many and have since been forgotten. But they are remembered once again within the pages of Unremembered Book 2 by Ken Zurski.
You can buy a copy of this wonderful and entertaining book by a local author by clicking on this link right here.
