I’ve been meaning to stop out to KP’s Wings and Fries in Hanna City since I read about the grand-opening last summer.
I was planning lunch with this week’s special guest star and he suggested we go there, so let’s head on out to Hanna City, check out this fairly new restaurant and meet this week’s special luncheon guest star!
It’s a quick trip from Peoria to Hanna City and depending on how much you adhere to speed limits, it’s around a 15 to 20 minute ride, not bad at all.
There’s picnic benches out in front of the building, but let’s go inside and see if our special luncheon guest star is inside.
We’ll head down this walkway… today’s special is Chix & Noodle Soup. I’ve never had Chix and don’t really know what that is. There’s several definitions in the Urban Dictionary but I don’t think they apply here.
Oh well, I’m having the wings and fries, so let’s just go in and quit obsessing over this!
Here we are inside and I see our special guest star in the back corner booth, check it out he took his phone for a round of dueling photos!
Here he is, Artie Fowler! Artie’s an old friend and both of us worked at Fleming Potter back in the day.
Artie’s been featured on the blog in the past and it’s good to see him again! I appreciate him suggesting we meet here, which I’ve been meaning to do since last summer!
Wow, check out all of the different sauces for the chicken wings, they have 22 different flavors and styles of sauces! This might just be a record for the most amount of choices of chicken wing flavors!
Keep on scrolling to see what Artie and I chose!
Kylie delivered our drinks and took our luncheon order with a cute smile.
Okay, while we wait for lunch, let’s take some photos in here.
There’s dining tables and comfortable booths line the outer wall in the dining room.
You can also sit up at the bar opposite the dining room.
They have lots of vintage signs in here and there’s Artie pointing to a Texaco sign from back in the day.
In addition to chicken wings and fries they have a full menu including burgers, sandwiches, funnel fries and homemade apple and cherry turnovers.
You can check out the entire menu here.
If you can survive the Reaper Challenge you win this t-shirt, your meal is free and you get your picture on the wall.
The challenge is that you have to eat 10 of the super spicy and hot Raging Reaper bone-in wings in 10 minutes and then sit for a five minute after-burn without a drink.
Meanwhile, back at our booth, lunch has arrived!
Artie got the Ranch Dry Rub wings and I went with Asian Peanut Butter wings and fries. Both look absolutely fabulous!
Okay, let’s dig in to our chicken wing lunch,
I started off by sampling the fries. They were crisp, crinkle-cut fries tossed in special in-house seasoning and they were delicious!
Now on to the chicken wings!
I got the Asian Peanut Butter Wings and they were so tasty!
The peanut butter sauce had Asian seasoning added to it and the two mixed perfectly into a sweet and savory flavor.
The wings were meaty and juicy and it was a wonderful and tasty lunch!
Artie gave his lunch a high rating as well!
We need to stop back and try some of the other items on the menu.
Okay, now it’s just chicken wing bones and napkins…
Then Kylie rang us up and this delicious edition of Lunch At First Bite has come to a delicious conclusion.
Thanks to Artie for suggesting this luncheon destination and to Kylie and everyone at KP’s Wings and Fries for the great service and a delicious and tasty chicken wing lunch!
