Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night, starring this week’s host, The MBIP World Headquarters with a special guest appearance from Schnuck’s grocery store.
Now, please welcome, from an undisclosed location in Peoria, Illinois, The MBIP World Headquarters!
Okay, as you can see, it’s quite the Winter Wonderland out here.
We’re supposed to get from four to seven inches of snow today, so I made a slippery trip to Schnuck’s early in the day before it got too bad out.
Here’s the ingredients for tonight’s Saturday Night Dinner!
From left: A piece of Red Velvet Gooey Butter Cream Cake, a NY Strip Steak, Ore Ida Extra Crispy Golden Fries, Green Giant Cheese Sauced Broccoli, Deans Dairy Nashville Hot Dip and Cheez-It Crackers.
Okay, let’s get this Saturday Night Dinner rolling!
First we’ll season the steak with salt and pepper and then we’ll put it in a plastic bag and fill with Italian dressing for a marinade for it to soak in for a few hours.
There it is all ready and we’ll let this sit in the MBIP Refrigerator for about four hours.
Four hours later…
Here’s the marinated steak out of the fridge and being wiped down.
We’re going to let the meat get to room temperature on this plate after re-seasoning it with salt and pepper.
While we let the meat warm up to room temperature, we’ll have an appetizer of the Cheez-It’s and the Dan’s Nashville Hot Dairy Dip.
This was a crunchy and tasty appetizer. The Nashville Hot Dairy Dip was spicy and tasty and something I recommend highly!
It’s time to cook the steak!
I added a half a stick of butter to a heated pan on the stove.
I placed the steak on the pan and seared both sides of it on the sizzling, red-hot pan.
Then I lowered the heat, covered the pan and cooked for two minutes on each side.
Then I took it out and we’ll let it rest while we cook the side dishes of…
Green Giant Steamed Broccoli In A Cheese Sauce and Ore-Ida Extra Crispy Golden Fries.
I’m also making a home-made steak sauce by adding A-1 Sauce to the buttery pan mixture where we fried the steak in plus I’m adding some Asian Zing sauce, Texas Pete’s Hot Sauce and a few dashes of Black Pepper.
Here’s this week’s Saturday Night Dinner in all of its glory!
It looks fantastic, lets’s dig in!
Here’s a pro tip for the cheesy broccoli: Add some of the Dave’s Nashville Dairy Dip to them, it gave it a little spice and a little kick and really made the cheesy broccoli and tasty side dish!
I was concerned about the steak, because I had never pan-seared one in butter in a skillet on the stove before.
But I sliced into it and it was perfectly cooked to a medium-rare temperature. It looks delightful, let’s dig in!
The steak was tender, juicy and full of flavor!
It was so tasty and I dipped the fries in the homemade steak sauce and they were a crispy taste treat as well!
This was a fabulous New Year’s Day Dinner, but it’s not over yet!
I’ve got a slice of Red Velvet Gooey Butter Cake for dessert.
I thought I’d add a couple butter pats and some honey to the top of it. Then we’ll warm it up in the microwave oven.
Mmm, what a sweet and tasty treat! Talk about your happy endings!
A perfect end to a delightful home-cooked Saturday Night Dinner. Let it snow, let it snow and…let it snow!
