Live from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night Take-Out, starring this week’s host, Ming Shee and featuring the MBIP World Headquarters Dining Area!
Now please welcome one of Peoria’s oldest Chinese restaurants and your host for the evening, Ming Shee!
This Saturday night dinner, wasn’t an easy one to get. Originally I was going to go to the Holy Crab, suggested by MBIP Pal and Pre-Pandemic Wheelman, Scott Turkey.
But I laid down around 2pm and ended up sleeping for over two hours and by the time I woke up, I had a bunch of errands to run and before I knew it, it was after 7pm and I was starving and didn’t feel like driving to East Peoria and back for tonight’s dinner.
So I thought I’d take the advice from my Twitter friend, Aaron and check out Anchors Away, which is fairly close to where I live.
I checked out their online menu, called to place the order and got a message that said they were closed for the weekend and wouldn’t be open till later in the week.
Fuck! By now I’m starving like you know who.
I decided to place an order with Hokaido restaurant on University and got my order all set and called them and nobody answered. I tried again and no answer the second time either.
Fuuuuuck!
So I tried another Chinese restaurant nearby and they answered and I finally placed my Saturday night dinner order. And this restaurant is…
None other than Ming Shee, which is one of Peoria’s oldest Chinese restaurants and the food here is always top-notch!
Let’s go in and pick up this week’s Saturday night take-out dinner!
There’s the dining room and we’ll go through the archway to pick up our Saturday night dinner.
This has been a somewhat exhausting Saturday night journey!
Hello Kitty and now it’s back to…
The MBIP World Headquarters Dining Area and there’s our Saturday Night feast from Ming Shee.
But before we dig into this majestic meal…
Let’s open up a giganzo can of Bud Light to start off this Saturday Night dinner.
Cheers!
I got a bowl of Hot and Sour Soup and it came with a bag of crispy Chinese noodles.
This was spicy and flavorful and a wonderful start to tonight’s dinner!
I also got an appetizer order of the Crab Rangoon.
This comes with a sweet dipping sauce and they were crispy on the outside and filled with a rich and creamy crab mixture on the inside. Simply delicious!
Inside of this container is a true hidden gem, that’s served up at Ming Shee…
Buffalo Chicken Wings!
They’re the only Chinese restaurant in Peoria that serves up authentic Buffalo Wings and these are some of the best wings I’ve ever had.
They’re plump and juicy and the Buffalo seasoning and sauce has a nice amount of heat and spicy flavor!
If you’re a fan of Buffalo Chicken Wings, you need to check these out!
For the main course I got the Ming Special Chicken with rice.
This is chunks of chicken, mushrooms, peppers and jalapeno peppers served up in a savory and spicy sauce.
It’s a delicious entree and can only be had at Ming Shee.
For dessert I got an order of their homemade almond cookies and they were a sweet and tasty treat!
And we’ll end this meal with a fortune cookie.
It’s a Golden Bowl fortune cookie which sounds like it’s made in a toilet!
And check out the fortune: “In great attempts it is glorious even to fail.”
What kind of a fucking defeatist fortune is that?
It’s never glorious to fail…fuck you, you toilet bowl fortune cookie!
