I’ve been to The Fieldhouse Bar & Grill many times while enjoying meals for the MBIP blog, but I don’t think I’ve ever had their pizza.
Well all that is going to change tonight as we continue to eat all of the pizza in Peoria!
And there’s a mystery special guest coming along for the ride. Well, actually he’s driving, so let’s get rolling for tonight’s saucy adventure!
Here we are at The Fieldhouse Bar & Lounge. I haven’t been here for a while, so I’m anxious to check it out tonight.
I took a shot of the outside patio area and found out that my friends Daniel and Chelsie were sitting out there!
They moved to Chicago a while back and were back in town for a wedding. Chelsie is the resident artist for The Marty Monologues Show and has done other artwork for me including the Joan Jett Hall of Fame which I’ll be posting about this Thursday.
You can read more about her and follow her work by clicking here: Lettering Works.
This was a pleasant surprise and it was great to catch up with both of them!
Okay, let’s go inside and there’s tonight’s mystery guest leading the way!
We decided to sit in the back room and now it’s time to reveal tonight’s mystery guest, it’s none other than my friend Bob Gordon from Acme Comics!
Great to have him along for tonight’s pizza tasting post!
There’s the menu and as you can see, they have homemade pizza here.
Our friendly and pretty waitress Lacey took our order and now let’s take a few photos of The Fieldhouse while it’s being prepared.
There’s a nice circular bar up in the front dining area with big screen TV’s tuned to sporting events.
There’s also a discreet gaming area up front for all of you gambler’s out there.
Naturally, since it’s named, “The Fieldhouse” there’s lots of Bradley University memorabilia in here.
Meanwhile, back at our table…
Our appetizer has arrived, we got an order of boneless chicken wings.
Normally I don’t order boneless chicken wings, I prefer the bone-in chicken wings, but Lacey said they were all out of chicken wings due to the national chicken wing shortage.
The name, “boneless chicken wings” always cracks me up. These are really just chicken nuggets. They’re tasty, but I prefer chicken wings with bones in them and hope this shortage ends soon!
Here’s Alice with the cheesy circular star of the evening: This week’s pizza pie!
We got half sausage and half cheese for tonight’s pie. Bob wanted the sausage and I had to stay true to the pizza challenge of eating all cheese pizza.
Here’s a slice from the cheese side cooling on a plate.
Their pizza has a somewhat thick and doughy crust.
The pizza sauce has a nice flavor and there’s a ton of rich and tasty cheese on top. I prefer thin and crispy, but this is tasty pizza. I have no complaints about it.
Bob said he enjoyed it too and gave it a guest star pizza rating of 7.5.
Now for my official weekly pizza rating!
——
THE RATING SYSTEM
Any rating from 0 to 5.9 is a substandard pizza that you should definitely avoid.
A rating from 6 to 8.5 is a good pizza and gets the MBIP pizza pie recommendation.
A rating from 8.6 to 9.4 means the pizza is very high quality and you need to try it out as soon as you can.
Ratings from 9.5 to 10 represent the best pizzas in Peoria (in my opinion).

MBIP SCORE
——
As I said, I prefer a more thin and crispy crust, but this was a tasty pizza pie than I can recommend to anyone out there. I’ll give this pizza a 7.3 rating.
