This week’s Lunch At First Bite had a couple of false starts to it. I was with this week’s special luncheon guest star and we stopped at two places that were weren’t open because it was the fifth of July and they were observing the Fourth of July holiday on that day and they were closed.
We finally spotted an open restaurant and it was one I’ve only gotten take-out from, so we thought we’d try the indoor dining experience there.
And so that’s exactly what we did and if you scroll down, you’ll see where this luncheon happened and who this week’s special mid-day dining guest star is!
If you don’t want to scroll down, well, that’s your business, go eat a bologna sandwich or something, it doesn’t really matter to me. We’re all going to be dead one day, so who cares?
Okay, let’s go get lunch!
Here we are at Blue Margaritas.
Last December I got tacos to go from here when we were in the middle of the pandemic, but today we’re going to experience the indoor luncheon dining experience. Hoohah!
We waited to be seated and now we’re on our way to our table.
And now it’s finally time to meet this week’s Lunch At First Bite’s special guest star…
The one and only Terry Grawey!
Terry’s a Hypnohumorist and he puts on fun and entertaining hypnosis shows with a large dose of humor all over the country.
He has a local show coming up on Saturday, July 24th here in Peoria with Phenomenal Phil, who we had lunch with a couple weeks ago.
The show is going to be at The Broadway Lounge and you can see all the details and get a ticket by clicking here.
I’m going to be there, so I hope to see you at the show!
Here’s Terry perusing the menu and he was a little upset that there’s no Ranch Dressing served in here. I was relieved, to tell you the truth!
Lunch started off with complimentary chips and salsa. And the chips were truly complimentary, they told me I had a nice pair of socks on and I appreciated the compliment.
Our waitress was nice, but she wouldn’t let me take her picture and she just shook her head when I asked if I could take photos of the restaurant.
Another problem was that it was really crowded and louder than hell in there. I’m deaf in one ear and the other isn’t much better, so we moved…
To a booth off to the side. This was much better and we could actually hear each other talk.
I decided to try and take a couple photos of the restaurant, even though our waitress didn’t seem to like the idea.
I took a photo of this table and got a dirty look from someone who was working there, so I decided to go back to the booth and just take photos of our lunch.
Hey, you don’t want free publicity, that’s okay with me!
We started off with an appetizer of Queso Fundido, which is melted Chihuahua cheese with Mexican sausage, Poblano peppers and sliced Portabella mushrooms.
Terry stuck his finger in one end to mark his territory. Or is that his Terrytory? I’m cracking myself up over here!
Terry had trouble dishing up the cheese and he was quite frustrated with the entire process.
I on the other hand, was able to scoop some out and put it on a chip with no problem at all. I guess I have more experience at cutting the cheese than Terry does.
Terry got a mushroom fajita and here he is displaying it for all of us to see! Thanks, Terry, it looks like a lovely lunch!
I got the Patron fajitas and this dish looks amazing!
It’s steak strips, chicken and jumbo shrimp cooked in tequila and then served with a cheese sauce. There’s also peppers and fried onions in the mix and it looks and smells fantastic!
I took some of this savory and tasty mixture and placed it in a tortilla and it was so flavorful and delicious!
There was a lot of flavor from the steak, chicken and shrimp and the cheese sauce topped it off with a rich and creamy flavor level. This was a delightful tasting lunch!
I think Terry hypnotized me during lunch, because for the life of me it looks like he’s eating off of an empty plate!
Okay, time to snap out of it, because it’s that time of the Lunch At First Bite post when we ask…
The Same Three Fucking Questions!
——
Does ketchup belong on hot dogs?
Sure, and hamburgers, and scrambled eggs, and spaghetti, and shrimp dip, and salsa, and grilled cheese, and tacos, and potato skins, and cottage cheese…and that’s all I can think of now!
Is deep dish pizza really pizza or is it a casserole like Jon Stewart says it is.
Neither. It’s too much dough! If I had to pick one though, I’d say casserole.
Why do fools fall in love?
My guess would be there is somebody out there for everyone. I’ve been married for 46 years. Now you’re asking yourself: “Who’s the fool?” Only a fool would answer that question.

Thanks for playing along and joining us for lunch, Terry! And be sure to check out the details of his upcoming Hypnosis and Magic Show with Phenomenal Phil at The Broadway Lounge!
