Peoria Pizza Works has been a pizza tradition in Peoria Heights for decades now. They not only serve up great pizza, they also have a full menu with salads, sandwiches and a pizza buffet at lunchtime. There’s also live music every Thursday at the open-mic stage shows.
You can’t do a Peoria pizza tour without sampling the pizza at Peoria Pizza Works and so let’s head over there and order a pizza pie!
Here we are at Peoria Pizza Works, a legendary pizza emporium in Peoria Heights!
As I walked up to the outside patio, I saw my friend Terry Grawey seated at a table and enjoying a cigar. Terry will be featured on this week’s luncheon blog on Thursday, so this is a little preview of that.
He’s also performing his hypnotism show at the Broadway Lounge with Phenomenal Phil on July 24th. Check out the details by clicking right here.
Okay, let’s go in and begin this week’s slice of life post!
The atmosphere in here is very welcoming and friendly.
Let’s get settled in at this comfortable booth here.
Check out the vintage Busch beer light hanging overhead. I love it!
Carly is our pretty and friendly waitress and she took this week’s pizza pie order.
While we wait for this week’s pie, let’s take a few photos in here.
They have a fantastic bar up at the front and check out all the beers on tap!
There’s a row of gaming machines opposite the bar if you’re in a gambling mood!
There’s another room off to the side here, it’s empty tonight but it fills up on the weekends and on Thursday’s when they have open-mic night.
Meanwhile, back at my booth, an order of soft pretzel sticks and melted cheese have arrived!
These are so tasty! The pretzels are warm and pillowy soft and the cheese is rich and zingy. What a great appetizer and start to this evening’s meal!
And just as I finished up the pretzels, here’s Carly delivering this week’s pizza pie!
Perfect timing!
Wow, this pizza looks fabulous!
They have several styles of pizza to choose from on their menu and I ordered the Chicago Thin Crust Pizza.
This is really a tasty cheese pizza, the sauce is flavorful, the cheese is rich and the crust is thin and crispy. This is just the way I like my pizza.
Then I had an idea…
I dipped a slice into the pretzel cheese and this was so tasty! I highly recommend you try this at least once in your lifetime.
But I’m cheating a little here because I’m not supposed to be adding any condiments to the pizza on this tour, so…
I’ll be rating the pizza based on the slices without any cheese or condiments.

THIS WEEK’S RATING
——
The Rating System
Any rating from 0 to 5.9 is a substandard pizza that you should definitely avoid.
A rating from 6 to 8.5 is a good pizza and gets the MBIP pizza pie recommendation.
A rating from 8.6 to 9.4 means the pizza is very high quality and you need to try it out as soon as you can.
Ratings from 9.5 to 10 represent the best pizzas in Peoria (in my opinion).
——
This is really tasty and satisfying pizza and it’s getting an ultra-high rating of 9.5!
And take my advice, try it dipped into the pretzel cheese, it takes it over the moon!
This is wonderful pizza and everyone should stop in to Peoria Pizza Works and sample it!
