Okay, we’re starting to make a dent in eating every stinking can of Chef Boyardee food items. A few more weeks and we’ll be all done with this Chef Boyardee canned crusade.
Let’s see what we’re eating this week…
This week we’re going to be eating the Pasta In Butter Sauce and the Mini Ravioli & Meatballs. Plus we’ll end with a tasty and sweet Hostess treat.
Here’s this week’s Chef Boyardee cans up in the MBIP World Headquarters Kitchen and Tasting Area cupboards.
We’ll start off with the Pasta in Butter Sauce and the bird’s eye view of this looks like albino pasta. It’s kind of frightening looking.
It’s plopped into the pan and pepper has been added.
EXTREME CLOSE-UP!
First Bite: This had a weird waxy taste to it and the pasta wheels were kind of slimy.
Kind of like eating a candle made of snot. Not a good experience at all. Let’s move along here!
All the meatballs seem to have risen to the top of the can. This looks like dog food and it’s kind of turning my stomach the wrong way.
It looks a little better in the pan and we’re adding a little pepper to the mix.
EXTREME CLOSE-UP!
First Bite: It was better than the Pasta in Butter Sauce, but what isn’t?

Label, Reality, Rating
Pasta in Butter Sauce: One Half Of a Chef Boyardee. This stuff was pretty gross and tasted like you were eating the flesh of both Johnny and Edgar Winter.
Mini Ravioli & Meatballs: These were okay, but anything’s okay after you’ve just digested pasta that tastes like Johnny and Edgar Winter’s flesh!

Hostess Treat: Pecan Spins
For this week’s sweet Hostess treat I thought I’d try the Pecan Spins.
A couple things bother me about this Hostess treat, for starters, it’s called “Pecan Spins” and there’s only one of them in the package.
Unless this thing starts twirling around when I unpackage it, this is false advertising!
The other thing is they seem a little too excited that they’ve used real pecans on this pastry. There’s really no need for an exclamation mark there.
One pro-top that I’ve learned is that you should always microwave your Hostess treat!
This was a sweet and tasty treat and yes…it had REAL pecans on it! Hooray!

Vintage Hostess Ad
Does it bother anyone else that this bowl of spaghetti is twice as big as both of those boys heads?
Who are the ad wizards who came up with this one?
