Davis Bros. Pizza is an iconic Peoria pizza restaurant in East Peoria. I’ve done several blogs from there and you can see a couple of them by clicking here and here.
Davis Bros. Pizza also has frozen pizza that you can buy online and and in stores. I thought we’d give it a try this week on the Thursday Frozen Pizza Review.
Plus there’s something new here in the MBIP World Headquarters to cook it in! Keep on scrolling to see what this new cooking addition is!
Here’s the Davis Bros. Cheese Frozen Pizza and noticed something that I thought was strange on the label…
This is a little fuzzy because I had to blow it up in Photoshop, but it says, “Light On Sauce.” I don’t know if that’s necessarily a good thing, but let’s keep moving along here.
Here it is unwrapped, there’s a nice distribution of cheese on the pizza. It looks like there’s equal parts cheddar and mozzarella. That’s a nice cheesy mixture!
And here’s the new addition to the MBIP World Headquarters Kitchen and Tasting Area, I bought a special pizza oven to cook these frozen pizzas in.
This has a special cooking system that supposedly cooks pizzas better than a conventional oven. Let’s put it to the test and put this inaugural pie in the oven!
I slid the pie in and shut the door.
I love the fact that there’s a window that you can watch the pie bake! Okay, while that cooks up, here’s a pizza video to watch until it’s done.
It’s Almost Pizza!
And now…it’s pizza pie time!
Wow, it looks perfectly cooked!
Here we are at the MBIP Dining Table and we’ll season the pie up with Butch’s Hot Sauce, a splash of Tabasco Sauce, some fine ground black pepper and Butch’s pizza seasoing.
The Davis Bros. Pizza is seasoned and cut up, now let’s let it cool. I like my pizza room temperature, so let’s watch another pizza related video while it cools down.
The Tombstone Story: A cheesy documentary!
And now, back to this week’s frozen pizza!

Davis Bros. Frozen Pizza: The Tasting!
I have to tell you, that pizza oven was a great purchase! It cooked this pizza perfectly! The crust is really crispy and it’s super thin, just the way I like it!
The cheese is rich, but their claim about being light on sauce is correct, I don’t really taste any sauce at all. And that’s not a good thing.
This pizza isn’t horrible but it could use more sauce to add a little zip and tang to it. I really like the thin, cracker like crust and the cheese is perfect too, it just needs a little sauce to liven it up.
The Rating
As I said, it wasn’t horrible but it really needs more sauce. I’m going to give this a 6.8 frozen pizza rating. It gets dinged for the lack of sauce.
