For this week’s luncheon post, we’re going to one of Peoria’s oldest taverns and a somewhat hidden gem for a tasty lunch, The Trolley on Farmington Road.
The Trolley has been serving up drinks and food since 1932 in the same location and today we’re going to be having lunch with yet another special luncheon guest star at this historical Peoria Pub.
Scroll on down to see our afternoon luncheon adventure at The Trolley and find out who the special luncheon guest star is this week!
Here we are at The Trolley, I think this is the longest standing tavern on Farmington Road. Quite the historical place.
Let’s go in and see what’s happening during today’s lunch hour!
They’re doing a good luncheon business here, the bar is packed.
And serving everything up behind the bar is the pretty mother and daughter team of Callie and Holly.
They’ve redecorated the bar and it looks so nice in here! There’s a pool table in the back room, a state of the art jukebox and a gaming area in the back of the bar for all of you gamblers out there!
Here’s the Bullshooter dart board in the corner.
They’ve got the best beer garden in West Peoria back here! There’s lots of picnic tables and an area for bags games and tournaments.
And here’s yet another Bullshooter dart board outside!
And now, it’s time to present this week’s special Lunch At First Bite Guest Star, my friend Michelle! She’s looking fabulous as always!
Michelle was the first one to ever recognize me from the blog, years ago when we were both in Champs West and we became friends that night back in 2013. It was great to see her and spend this luncheon afternoon together!
We started off with an appetizer of the Spring Rolls with a side of sweet and sour dipping sauce and they were crispy and delicious!
Michelle got the grilled chicken salad for lunch and she said it was fabulous and very tasty.
I got the Patty Melt sandwich with fries and it was so delicious!
The fries were thin and crispy and cooked just the way I like them.
The Patty Melt was unbelievable! The juicy and savory burger was housed in between two toasty slices of rye bread and it was topped with rich melted Swiss Cheese and savory grilled onions. This was one of the best Patty Melt’s I’ve ever had!
So tasty and delicious and what a wonderful lunch at The Trolley!
It was great to see Michelle again and have lunch with her! She’s a wonderful friend and it’s always great to spend some time with her!

And now it’s time for The Same Three Fucking Questions I ask everyone I have lunch with. You’d think I’d get sick of this, but I never do!
I asked Michelle the same three fucking questions I ask everyone who’s a guest here on this luncheon blog and here’s the questions and Michelle’s answers!
—-
1. Does ketchup belong on a hot dog?
In regards to hot dogs, I would say no. Truth is, I can’t stand hot dogs or ketchup!
2. Is deep dish pizza really pizza or is it a casserole like Jon Stewart says it is.
As far as the pizza goes, you and I did talk about it last Thursday and that actually makes sense that it’s much like a casserole!
3. Why do fools fall in love?
Why do birds sing so gay…

Thanks, Michelle! Great to see you and we’ll do this again soon!
