The Peoria Riverfront Museum opens up on July 1st! I’m looking forward to that and I recently found out that they’re taking down the creepy, constipated couple that’s been on display in the backyard.
It’s happening today and I’ve documented the different sculptures that have been put on display back here through the years, so I want to go and get some photos of them being taken down and see what’s going up in their place.
But first, let’s go back in time to look at the previous posts on the giant sculptures on display in the backyard of the Peoria Riverfront Museum!
2017 - Giant Lincoln Invades Peoria…And He’s Royally Pissed Off!
Back on September 27, 2017, I went and met my friend Carl and we checked out the sculpture in the back of the Peoria Riverfront Museum.
It was a giant sculpture of Abraham Lincoln standing next to a guy who looked a lot like Perry Como. Lincoln appeared to be angry and before I knew it…
He El-Kabonged Perry Como with his giant top hat!
Perry was down for the count as a triumphant Lincoln glared angrily down at the defeated singing giant. To see the entire post, just click here.
2019 - A Giant Creepy Couple That Appears To Be Constipated Has Taken The Place Of The Angry Lincoln And Perry Como In The Back Of The Peoria Riverfront Museum For Those Of You Keeping Score.
Fast forward to May 22, 2019 and they were taking down Lincoln and Perry and putting something new up. I went down and got a photo of Lincoln and Perry on the ground. Check it out, Perry was way ahead of the curve as far as wearing a mask is concerned. Good for him.
Lincoln isn’t wearing one and it reminds me of this asshole.
A giant couple were going up to replace Lincoln and Perry.
There goes the man up in the air and then down on the cement platform.
The woman followed suit and soon…
They were standing tall in the back of the museum.
They kind of creeped me out and the woman was holding her stomach and looked kind of constipated. Click here to read the entire post.
2020 - Photos From Yesterday
I saw online that they were taking the couple down, so instead of doing the usual “shopping local” post, I came down here. I’ll keep doing the shop posts next week.
Alright, here we are at the Peoria Riverfront Museum, we’ll just take a stroll down the sidewalk…
Shit, they’ve taken them down already! Oh well, they’re still on the ground over there, let’s go take a look.
Yikes, they’re even creepier laying down like this, they look like two creepy corpses.
The woman still looks constipated and look at her big feet! Check out the fancy-schmancy shoes!
The man just looks kind of sad and his footwear is a little dull compared to the creepy woman.
There’s the empty cement square and some workers in the background.
Hey, maybe they’re going to put up something new. I wonder what it will be? Probably something that signifies the year of 2020.
I work nearby, so we’ll check back in a few hours.
Time Passes By
Okay, time has passed, let’s go down and see what the newest display down there is!
Oh, Ringo, how about a drum roll, old chum?
Thanks, Ringo, okay, let’s go see what they’ve put up down there!
