Last week I wrote how Peoria’s Irish bars stepped up to the plate and took a hit by closing down their annual St. Patrick’s Day parties for social distancing practices last March.
This wasn’t an easy thing for them to do, but it’s definitely one of the reasons that Peoria has had low numbers so far in this whole Pandemic crisis.
One of the first places to announce that they were shutting down the bar during this crisis was Kenny’s Westside Pub, here’s the announcement owner-operator, Sean Kenny put up on March 16th.
You can support them by picking up food and craft beer to go, there’s curbside service and delivery too, lunch and dinner are available. Click here for more information on that.
Below are photos and a half a dozen links to posts I’ve done from Kenny’s in safer and better times. Click on them to take a trip back when things were different than now and know that it will get better down the road.
Till then pick up a lunch, dinner and a six pack of craft beer from Kenny’s to keep them in business so we can enjoy this fine and unique downtown Mecca of Entertainment when this shit is finally over.

This was my first trip to Kenny’s Westside Pub back when they were on Farmington Road. I can’t believe that was over seven years ago!
I met the owner, Sean Kenny that night and was impressed with his drive and devotion to starting a pub that would be a special and unique pub and entertainment center here in Peoria. Through a lot of hard work, he made his dream happen and showed that with hard work you can make your dreams come true.
Let’s help him keep this dream alive in these tough times by ordering some carryout lunches and dinners!

I returned that summer and Sean created an off-menu deep-fried grilled cheese sandwich for me! Just one of my many over-the-top, wonderful evenings at Kenny’s Westside Pub!

Back in 2016, I was doing a year-long sandwich tour, so I went to Kenny’s for their delicious and delightful Reuben sandwich and onion rings (both are available for pick-up and curbside service for lunch and dinner and I highly recommend them!)
I also got an exclusive sneak peek at the new Kenny’s Westside Pub that he was getting ready to open in downtown Peoria!

On October 7, 2016, I visited the brand new and superior Kenny’s Westside Pub in downtown Peoria! Above are photos from past visits and a shot of the brand spanking new Kenny’s on Jefferson Avenue in downtown Peoria.
I realized that the Farmington Road location was the primer and learning experience for Sean and this place was where he’d put his previous experience and knowledge to create an iconic Peoria entertainment oasis with tasty homemade food, a large selection of beer and drink and quality live entertainment that’s never been seen here in Peoria!
This was graduation day for Kenny’s Westside Pub and it was an exciting thing to witness!

A few week’s later, my friends John and De had a Smiley Graphix Party at the new Kenny’s Westside Pub and we sampled chicken wings and had a lot of fun.
They had a large crowd and everyone was impressed with the new and improved downtown Kenny’s Westside Pub!

One thing that has made Kenny’s stand out here in Peoria is the wonderful and exciting live music that happens there.
Sean has a concert room with state of the art equipment and lighting and he draws top-notch bands from all over the country to play here in Peoria.
He also supports local live music and on this night in 2017, I went and enjoyed the musical stylings of three local Peoria bands: Mendoza, Denim Dragon and Lark’s Tongue.

Carryout, Curb Service, Delivery, Merch and tip the Kenny’s Staff
As I mentioned carryout, curb service and delivery are available for lunch and dinner, seven days a week at Kenny’s Westside Pub.
You can also support by visiting Kenny’s Merch Store and while you’re there, tip a Kenny’s employee! If everyone who’s reading this can tip at least five bucks, that would help out these fine people out so much. I just tipped them and challenge all of you to do the same!
Sean and his crew have worked hard to provide us with an iconic Peoria establishment serving up delicious and tasty homemade food, craft beers, drink and music that would never be heard here in Peoria. Let’s pay them back and keep them in business until things are better.
Sláinte!
