Jimbo’s Jumbo is one of the oldest sandwich shops in the area. They’ve been serving up sandwiches on 8th Street in Pekin since 1976.
So this week, instead of a Sandwich of Peoria, we’ll be spotlighting a Sandwich of Pekin! And away we go!
This was a mini road trip to Pekin, so of course MBIP pal and Wheelman, Scott Turley was driving us there.
Here we are at Jimbo’s Jumbo.
As I mentioned in the introduction, they’ve been serving up delicious subs and sandwiches since 1976. And as you can see from the neon in the windows, there’s also wings, salads and pizza!
There’s our two subs all wrapped up. Time to unveil them!
Scott got the hot ham and cheese and I got the Jimbo’s Jumbo signature sub, the Italian Sausage.
Both are made with their homemade bread and fresh ingredients.
I got the Italian Sausage sandwich with cheese, onions, mushrooms, lettuce and their homemade sauce. The Italian sausage is spicy and savory and blends nicely with the cheese, onions and mushrooms.
The homemade bread is bakery fresh and takes the signature sandwich over the top!
It’s a wonderful and tasty sandwich and it can only be found at Jimbo’s Jumbo in Pekin!
