I have to confess, this week I didn’t really have a meal in play when I went to the store, so this is going to be a little bit of an improvisational meal! I’m going to go to the store and then we’ll start cooking!
The ingredients I chose for this week’s Marty Meal include, clockwise from left: Cheez Whiz, chopped onions, Angus Beef Steaks, Green Giant Cheese Broccoli, White Castle Peanut Butter Pie, Reeses Dairy Whip, Tillamook Smoked Black Pepper Cheese, Zesty Steak Sauce and New York Texas Toast.
I’ll also be using ingredients already housed in the MBIP World Headquarters Kitchen/Taste Testing Area.
And of course we start off with the most important ingredient, a Bud Light tallboy! Cheers!
I thought we’d season the steaks with a dry rub consisting of equal parts ground mustard, Smokehouse Maple seasoning, minced onions, Mrs. Dash seasoning, black pepper and chili powder.
Once the rub was mixed together in a bowl, I coated the steaks with olive oil and covered them with the dry rub seasoning. Then we’ll let the steaks chill in the refrigerator for about fifteen minutes.
My original idea for this meal was to make mini steak slider sandwiches, but when I saw this package in the frozen food aisle, I was very intrigued. It’s New York Texas Toast. It’s bread that has some sort of an identity crisis!
Is it from New York or Texas? It can’t be both, or can it?
I decided that this schizophrenic bread had to be part of this sandwich and so into the oven it goes!
There’s lots of multi-tasking going on with this week’s Marty Meal!
I’m grilling onions, taking the bread out, putting the broccoli into the microwave and putting the steaks under the broiler all at the same time. Whew!
The steaks cooked quickly and I made a steak sauce to finish them off on the stove.
I took a bite of one and they are seasoned to perfection and the sauce really adds a tasty flavor!
I’m going to add this smoked black pepper cheese to the schizophrenic New York Texas Toast.
I put the broccoli in a pan, added Cheez Whiz and topped them off with bread crumbs.
Then I put both of them under the broiler.
Minutes later, here they are, cooked to perfection!
Looks like it’s time to plate this week’s Marty Meal!
The broccoli is extra cheesy and rich and the toasted bread crumbs add a nice crunch and consistency to the dish!
Now on to the main course!
These steak sandwiches are so tasty!
The schizophrenic bread is soft and the cheese and grilled onions compliment the seasoned and saucy steak perfectly! The steak is tender, juicy and savory!
For dessert I found a White Castle Peanut Butter Pie On-A-Stick in the frozen food aisle. Just like the schizophrenic bread, I found this very intriguing!
I also picked up some Reese’s Dairy Whipped Topping and added that to the pied on the stick and it was a sweet treat to end this wonderful Thursday Minute Marty Meal!
You may recall from the last Thursday Minute Marty Meal that our friend Oscar wasn’t too happy with the MBIP blog and accused me of objectifying women.
Well, I’m running late this week, so I thought we’d put up a picture from the 2018 Oscar’s in Oscar’s honor.
Oscar, this one photo pictorial is for you!
I’m not quite sure what this photo from the 2018 Oscars even means, but I love Jodie Foster and Jennifer Lawrence so there you go! And I love you too, Oscar!
We’ll see you all tomorrow!
