Live from the Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night Take-Out! This week’s host is The Fish House and the special guest star is Olivia!
Now, please welcome this week’s Saturday Night Host…The Fish House!
Here we are at the Fish House, one of Peoria’s most beloved restaurants. They’ve been in business in this location since 1976.
Normally I’d go in the side door over there, but since we’re in the middle of a pandemic, I’m getting all of my restaurant food to go. They make that easy here and I’ll show you how to get take-out at The Fish House!
First you go to the back of the building. I’ve never been back here at night and look how pretty and sparkly it is! I love it back here!
These shots are a little fuzzy. Sometimes I hate the MBIP Camera. Hate, hate HATE it!
Anyway, you go up some stairs in the back patio area and walk through a door
And boom, you’re in the little room to pick up your order.
You have to ring the bell, which I did and our order is on the way.
There’s the Fresh Market specials including deals on fresh shrimp, lobster and scallops. There’s also a poster of a bunch fish, so they have that going for them.
Here’s Olivia, delivering our take-out meal and looking very pretty in her mask!
Okay, one last shot from the back of the parking lot and we’re off to…
The MBIP World Headquarters Kitchen and Tasting Area. Check out the bag with my name on it…whoops, spellcheck alert, but that’s okay.
As always we’ll start the meal off with a giganzo can of Bud Light. Cheers!
Here’s the meal, out of the bags. Let’s dig in!
I started off with an order of Cole Slaw which was crispy, tart and crunchy.
Next I dug into an appetizer order of the Crab Turnovers. These are a specialty of the house and they are so delicious!
The turnovers are a pastry baked shell filled with cheese, spinach and crab meat. It’s served with a rich and creamy tomato sauce and this is like biting into heaven! These are so delicious!
Now onto the main course. I had the Chilean Sea Bass with a side order of the Au Gratin Potatoes.
The Au Gratin Potatoes were so rich and creamy. A real taste treat!
After eating the potatoes, I repositioned the Chilean Sea Bass on top of the cheese sauce and I added two of the Fish House’s famous dinner rolls and squeezed a lemon over the fish.
I dredged a dinner roll through the cheese sauce and it was a flaky and cheesy treat!
Now on to the main course, The Chilean Sea Bass.
Wow, this was such a delicious and satisfying piece of fish! It was rich, buttery, flaky and had just the right amount of spice and delicious flavor to it!
The cheese sauce added a rich and delicious flavor level to the meal.
What a wonderful meal and remember that all of our local restaurants need our support now more than ever in these trying pandemic times. So eat local and keep our Peoria flavor alive!
