About three years ago I did a post on a retro-styled store called Modern TV. Well that business recently closed down, but the good news is that another retro business has taken over for them.
This shop opened up last July and the name is pure genius seeing that they opened up in 2020 in the middle of a pandemic. So what is this name?
Hindsight!
How perfect is that name for this weird year of 2020? Let’s go check it out
Here’s the photo I took back in February of 2017.
And here’s Hindsight in the old space that used to house Modern TV. There’s not a sign on the store front, but there is one on the front lawn.
Check it out! That’s a nice lyrical quote on the sign…
Let’s go in and see what’s happening inside of Hindsight.
Wow, it’s very cool in here. As soon as you walk in, you experience a nice clubhouse feel that is very welcoming.
Check out the overstuffed couch in the middle of the room. I love it in here already!
This is the owner and curator of Hindsight, Logan Milligan. I asked him to write some thoughts about opening this shop and here they are!

I opened my doors on July 11th, 2020. My vision for the store is somewhere between an all-ages punk venue, a skate shop and a weird vintage head shop, all tied together and run by hippies.
I came up with the name for Hindsight, thinking about all of old band t-shirts that I've given away / thrown away, shirts that I thought weren't cool at the time, but I dream of getting back now. Things that in retrospect, are much cooler than I originally thought. The word Hindsight popped up in my head like a light bulb, the whole "established 2020", all of it fell into place at the same time.
The posters in the dressing room are a mix between some of my own, as well as stuff i've acquired from friends of mine. Some of the coolest ones in the room, come from one of my closest friends, Jamie.
People are welcome to bring me their vintage clothing in exchange for cash or in-store credit, but it's not always a guarantee that I'll buy. I try to be curate as much as possible.
A year from now, I would like to be right here, celebrating the fact we're still open, and hopefully in a place where we can be hosting social gatherings, workshops, live music, art shows and more.
This is a work in progress so please stop by and see it for yourself. Everyone is welcome here.

Thanks, Logan! Now let’s take a look around in here!
There’s lots of vintage clothing in here. The inventory includes jackets, pants, shirts and tye-dye t-shirts.
You can also find vintage t-shirts hanging from the ceiling and the walls in here.
There’s even more on top of and inside of this floor display.
Hey, look who we bumped into here, it’s Sean Kenny, the esteemed owner of Kenny’s Westside Pub!
Sean said this is a favorite shop for him and he started coming and buying collectible and vintage items since they opened last July.
There’s a relaxing comfort station at the front of the store where you can play video games and watch VHS tapes on the big screen TV and party like it’s 1989!
As you can see, Sean was taking advantage of this and chilling out in Hindsight! In here it’s all 2020 folks!
Logan said that this wall is where they hang some of the skate boards in the shop. He said that they recently sold most of them and he’s going to be stocking up on more soon. He’s the final two that are left hanging right now.
There’s also a wall of vintage hats, jewelry on display and cassette tapes for sale in here. It’s kind of like a treasure hunt looking around in here!
Logan also sells fanzines and books in here, including…
His own zine, Mister Dude. You can follow Mister Dude on Twitter by clicking right here.
Thanks for the tour and hospitality, Logan! Now I can officially say that here in Peoria, Hindsight is definitely 2020!
Stop by and support this brand new local and fun Peoria business today!
