Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night Take-Out, starring this week’s host, the Fox Pub And Cafe and featuring special guest star, Stephanie!
Now please welcome this week’s host, the Fox Pub And Cafe!
Here we are at the Fox Pub in Pioneer Park. That’s a very 2020 sticker on the door!
One more door and then it’s in we go and we can start our Saturday night!
There’s a front dining room and an even larger dining area in the back. It’s not too crowded because it’s late afternoon and an off time for dining.
The Fox Pub is Peoria’s only English-themed pub and there’s all kinds of fun English items on the walls and within the pub.
Old tap handles hang over the door…speaking of taps…
There’s the bar! I’d sure like to sit there and have a few beers and eat my dinner at the bar, but it’s 2020, so I’m getting it to go.
As you can see, they have a large selection of beers on tap.
There’s a fancy-schmancy electronical tap list behind the bar.
Stephanie brought me the dinner order and she was all dressed up for Halloween! I love her mask!
And just like magic, we’re now in the Kitchen and Tasting Area at the MBIP World Headquarters.
I think we’ll start the meal off with a giganzo can of Bud Light. Cheers!
The dinner is housed in these two containers. Let’s dig in.
I started the meal out with an order of their Queso Cheese Dip.
This was so satisfying! The tortilla chips are made in-house and the cheese dip is rich, creamy and just the right amount of spiciness to balance the richness out with a little zing. There’s also chunks of ground beef in there.
We’re off to a fabulous and cheesy start to this meal!
For the main course I got the San Antonio Beefeater Brisket sandwich. I also got a side of cole slaw.
The cole slaw was crispy with just a hint of sweetness coming through.
The San Antonio Beef Brisket sandwich is made with a generous portion of beef brisket, grilled onions on top with pepper-jack cheese and homemade pub dressing beneath.
I had some cole slaw left and decided to add it to the sandwich.
It looks fantastic, let’s dig in!
Wow, the brisket is juicy and tender and the melted cheese and pub dressing compliment it so well. I’m really glad I added the cole slaw, it added a nice crunch to the sandwich and gave it another flavor level.
And the bun was toasted and bakery fresh! Yet another great meal at the Fox Pub and Cafe.
Inside dining is being shut down this Wednesday, so our local restaurants need our support now more than ever. Please get take-out from our local restaurants and help them survive this rotten year.
