Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, The Fox Pub & Cafe with special guests, Rob and Kayla and featuring musical guest stars, Melodies *Memes* & Mules.
Now, please welcome this week’s Saturday Night host, The Fox Pub & Cafe!
Here we are at the Fox Pub & Cafe.
They recently put up their seasonal winter menu and since it snowed this evening, I thought it was the perfect night to come and try a selection from it. So in we go to start off this week’s Saturday night!
As you can see there’s a nice crowd here in the dining room and I spy an empty seat at the bar, so I went and snagged it and settled in!
Rob, the friendly bartender served me up a Moscow Mule (I’ll explain that drink selection in a minute) and I ordered my dinner from the Winter Feature Menu.
This is my view of the back of the bar and there’s the large selection of beers on tap.
And of course we have to feature a photo of the lovely Kayla at the bar! I think she’s been featured in every Fox Pub post we’ve put up here in the last few years and it’s always great to see her!
The entire tap list is featured on this screen on the back wall.
There’s live music here every Saturday night from a band that calls themselves, Melodies *Memes* & Mules.
That’s the explanation for the Moscow Mule drink, as you can see, there’s a variety of Mule cocktails every Saturday for five bucks!
And there’s the band in action! They played a lively set of pop tunes with an English/Irish folk twist including, “I Saw Her Standing There, Our House, Losing My Religion and Looking Out My Back Door.”
They’re here every Saturday for the next couple of months, so stop by and check them out!
In case you haven’t heard or figured it out, The Fox Pub is Peoria’s only English themed pub complete with art and artifacts to prove it.
They live up to their catch-phrase, “Eat, Drink and be English!”
Meanwhile, back at the bar, it looks like our Saturday night dinner is about to happen!
Whoomp, there it is! I ordered the French Onion Grilled Cheese Sandwich from the Winter Feature Menu.
This is a sandwich that mimics French Onion soup and that intrigued me!
I got a side of the homemade deep fried potato chips and they were warm, crispy and delicious! A perfect starter on a chilly winter evening!
The French Onion Grilled Cheese Sandwich was a real treat and perfect for a winter meal to warm you up.
You can read more about it in the review below, but this is only available for the next couple of months, so I would get in here and try one before it’s off the menu!
After dinner the band continued to play on! A fun and perfect winter evening at The Fox Pub & Cafe!
Who doesn’t love a toast grilled cheese sandwich in the wintertime? Well, they’ve put a new spin on this grilled sandwich at The Fox Pub & Cafe. They’ve combined the elements of French Onion soup into this comfort food sandwich and the result is a delicious and unique grilled cheese like you’ve never tasted before!
The sandwich features melted Gruyere cheese and beer-grilled onions and its housed in between two buttery slices of grilled Marble Rye bread. This is one tasty and satisfying sandwich!
I got mine with a side of the homemade deep-fried potato chips and it was a delicious Saturday night meal!
