Last Sunday my Dad, Jerry Wombacher turned 90-years-old! We had a party to commemorate this happy milestone and of course I brought the MBIP Camera to document the festivities!
The Place: The Lariat Steakhouse
The party happened at one of our family’s favorite restaurants, The Lariat Steakhouse. As you can see from the sign, everyone at The Lariat were definitely in the spirit of the evening!
The Room
We had a private room located in the front of the restaurant. My sister Terry decorated the room with balloons and photos that you’ll see soon!
The Guests
Here’s the guests that were in attendance for this festive evening and dinner.
1. From left: Tom, Phil, Terry, Caylin and the birthday boy himself, Jerry!
2. Aunt Judy and Uncle Bob.
3. Matt and Mary Beth. As you can see, their sons, Tupac and Biggie are a little camera shy!
4. Pat and Bill.
5. Pat and Greg with Jerry.
6. Sue and Jeff with the birthday boy.
7. Terry and Kathy with Jerry. An interesting factoid here is that Terry and Kathy’s daughter is my doctor! Her name is Dr. Kristen Chambers-Damm and in addition to being a fabulous doctor, you can also refer to her as, “That Damm Doctor,” which is endless fun!
Our Server
Naomi was our pretty server for the evening and she did a fantastic job!
90 Years of Jerry!
My sister Terry not only decorated the room, she collected and put out some photos of Jerry with friends and family and placed them on the tables. They were fun to look at and brought back a lot of memories!
Random Photos From The Evening
Here’s some random photos I took in-between asking Naomi for another beer.
Dinner!
We had two tables for dinner and the food was fabulous as always!
Cutting The Cake
Tom was in charge of the cake and he got it at Trefzger’s Bakery and ordered extra flowers on it! He and Naomi cut the cake in true Average White Band fashion. Wonderful work!
A Few Words From Jerry
After the cake, Jerry got up and thanked everyone for coming and talked about turning 90-years-old.
Just Like Seinfeld, This Jerry Is All About Nothing!
My Dad is a generous guy who never wants anyone to give him anything. So he was adamant that no one was to bring any presents to the party. So we got him a box of nothing. George Costanza would’ve been proud of us!
Happy Birthday, Jerry!
My Dad is the nicest person in the world and I’d like to thank him for his generosity, patience, advice and encouragement through the years. You’ve been the best Dad ever and I’ve always felt lucky to be your son!
Happy birthday, Dad with much love and affection from all of us!
