Live, from Peoria Heights, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, Brienzo’s Wood Fired Pizza, with special guests, Rob, Knute, Chris, Brooke and musical guests, Rick King’s Royal Hustle!
Now please welcome this week’s host, located in Heritage Square in Peoria Heights, Brienzo’s Wood Fired Pizza!
Here we are at Brienzo’s Wood Fired Pizza in Heritage Square in Peoria Heights. I’ve done posts on them when they were in Junction City, but I haven’t visited them here in their new location here in Heritage Square, so tonight’s the night we visit Brienzo’s new spot!
There’s a concert going on next door, it’s part of Pour Bros. Taproom Courtyard Concert Series. We’ll have to check that out after dinner! For now, let’s go inside and see what’s happening.
Wow, it’s big in here and I love the atmosphere!
It’s fairly crowded, but luckily there’s plenty of seats at the bar. Let’s snag one and get settled in for the evening!
That’s Rob behind the bar serving up an ice-cold bottle of Bud Lite. Sadly the MBIP Camera fuzzed him out a little. Hate the MBIP Camera…hate, hate…HATE!
I’ve always had the pizza here, which is wonderful, check it out at these posts here, here and here. Tonight, I’m going to try something different, keep on scrolling to see what I ordered for this week’s Saturday night dinner.
There’s the owner of Brienzo’s, Knute. He said its been going fantastic in the new location and they’ve had great crowds in here. That’s wonderful news, glad to see business is booming for them!
They have a half a dozen beers on top and there’s also a quartet of wines to choose from on tap.
The open kitchen is located directly behind the bar and as you can see, they’re very busy back there!
The dining room has a nice view of Heritage Square and comfortable booths line the far wall.
They have several flavors of Gelato here, I might just have to try some out for dessert!
Meanwhile, back at the bar, I ran into Chris who I met a while back at The Fieldhouse. He told me he’s been working here for a couple of months and really enjoys it. Great to see him again!
Dinner is served up by Brooke, looking very cute behind the bar.
We’ll start off with the Caeser salad and it’s very tasty. This is a half salad, the full size must be huge!
For the main course I got the Wood-Fired Italian Meatballs served with house made Marinara sauce and a garlic breadstick.
The meatballs and marinara sauce were delicious. The wood-fired stove gave them a nice smoky flavor and they were seasoned perfectly!
I dipped the breadstick in the marinara sauce and it was crispy on the outside and nice and fluffy inside.
This was a wonderful meal!
And yes, I ended it all with a cup of the Cookies and Cream Gelato. This was creamy, rich and delightful!
Thanks to everyone at Brienzo’s for a wonderful Saturday night meal and for the nice hospitality!
Now we’ll check out the concert going on presented by Pour Bros. Taproom. The band is Rick King’s Royal Hustle and they’re a funk and blues band from Chicago. They were fantastic and put on a fun show. A nice way to end Saturday night!
The pizza here is fabulous but there’s other tasty items on the menu as well.
I started off with the Ceaser salad and the lettuce was crispy, there were plentiful croutons and the Caeser dressing was sharp and tasty. It was a nice start for the dinner.
The Italian Wood-Fired Meatballs were delicious. The wood-fired stove gave them a nice smoky flavor and the Italian seasoning and marinara sauce were a great combination.
I finished off with the Cookies and Cream Gelato and it was a sweet ending to a fabulous meal!
