This week something happened that has only happened once before in the seven years I’ve been doing this blog. And to explain it, let’s make like Marty McFly and go back in time!
Back In Time!
On January 19, 2016, I got this message on facecrack from Taylor Mickelberry who was producing Good Day Central Illinois at the time. He was inviting me to be a guest on the show and he also invited me back for lunch after a failed attempt to eat my lunch at the WMBD/WYZZ studios. You can read the failed lunch attempt here.
Here’s a photo of Julie, the receptionist who originally threw me out and our lunch in the WMBD studios! Click here to read the entire post. No one has ever invited me back to a failed, “Can I Eat My Lunch In Here” attempt after that. Until this week!
Last week I tried to eat my lunch at a local business with the unique name of TADA. The name of the business cracked me up, because usually you only hear the word, TADA, from a magician or a chef presenting a special dish. Well I went there, kind of got thrown out and ended up at A-Z Jewelry and Swap shop. If you missed that post, click here and read all about it.
I posted a link on facecrack to the blog and this comment appeared…
They invited me back! I was so excited that this happened again and got in touch with them and we decided to have a pizza party in their lunch room! So now, let’s return to TADA!
The Return To TADA!
I stopped in at Kenny’s Westside Pub and picked up a couple of their famous flatbread pizza, some chicken wings and also an order of the pretzel bites. Since they were nice enough to invite me back, I sure wasn’t going to show up empty-handed!
I was instructed to drive past the front door, where I had entered before (and where the top secret Proprietary Software is made!) and enter through the back door and here we are. TADA!
Stephanie, who’s the Director of Marketing and Communication was waiting for me at the front desk and happily struck a TADA pose for the MBIP Camera! I love it…TADA!
I made a special TADA! shirt for the occasion and Stephanie snapped a photo of me modeling it. TADA! Ha ha ha! Get used to seeing that word, I’m kind of addicted to it now!
The TADA Tour
Stephanie gave me a tour of the TADA office space and it’s very impressive in here and as you can see, everything is state of the art and high tech!
Uh, oh...TRANSFORMATIONAL THINKING AHEAD, that can only mean one thing…
It’s the Proprietary Software room! This is where I got thrown out of on my first visit, but I got to take a photo of it on this visit! TADA!
Stephanie introduced me to the CEO and Founder of TADA, Seshadri Guha. I confessed to Seshadri that I wasn’t quite sure what type of business TADA is and what they actually did there.
Seshadri explained it to me, but it kind of went over my head. It’s something like they duplicate your business, organize your data and sock drawer and then turn it into halcyon and then take it beyond what data actually is.
Or something like that, I was a little confused after talking with Seshadri, but it’s not his fault, I was confused before I ever walked in the door! It’s just my general state of mind!
The next person Stephanie and I ran into was quite a pleasant surprise! This is Mike Clark and he’s the Director of Sales and Business here at TADA. Mike and I went to Bergan High School together, but I don’t think we’ve seen each other since then! It was great to see him again and catch up on the last few decades of our lives! Together again…TADA! This is turning into quite the magical afternoon!
The TADA tour ended up at the lunch room. I think this is one of the nicest lunch rooms I’ve ever visited and check out the refrigerator…beer and wine! Talk about a true TADA moment! TADA!
Pizza Party!
Okay, it’s finally time for me to eat my lunch in here and we broke out the pizzas, wings and pretzel bites! Stephanie picked up two pies from Papa Johns. It’s quite a feast!
Everything was delicious and we had a fun lunch and a nice conversation. Mike joined Stephanie and I and Emiliano stopped by for a slice and told me he enjoys the MBIP blog, which I always love to hear!
And I even got a parting gift, a TADA t-shirt! TADA! Thanks to Stephanie and everyone at TADA for being such great sports and letting me eat my lunch in there!
