Last week I announced my favorite fried chicken on this motherclucking tour and this week I’m going to name my favorite non-fried chicken dinner that I had on this 13 month fowl tour.
Before I announce it though, let’s take a look at all of the non-fried chicken dinners I had on the finger-lickin’ chicken tour.
I consumed lots of chicken in all kinds of baked and smoked variations. One thing I learned while doing this tour is that I’ll never do another 13 month food tour, it was just too long. I think people got a little tired of it and I know I did! But at least it’s all over now!
And now that it’s all over, it’s time to announce my favorite non-fried chicken dinner.
Oh, Ringo, could you please provide a drum roll for this moment of chicken anticipation?
Thanks Ringo! And now, here’s my favorite non-fried chicken dinner of this 13 month clucked up tour!
My favorite non-fried chicken dinner was served up at Joe’s Original Italian & Martini Bar in Peoria Heights! It was the stuffed chicken breast and you can read the post right here in case you missed it.
I came back for a second helping of this dish and there’s Katie behind the bar looking pretty as always!
They have wonderful cocktails here and I got a Sierra Mule, just like I had on the original stop! It’s delicious!
There it is, my favorite non-fried chicken dinner of this 13 month tour, the stuffed chicken breast at Joe’s Origian Italian & Martini Bar!
Here’s my review of this dish from the stop I made last September and I still stand by it!
This is not only one of the best meals I’ve had on the chicken tour, it’s one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life!
The large chicken breast has a nice light crispy crust outside and it’s tender and juicy inside.
It’s stuffed with spinach, artichoke hearts and goat cheese. It’s served on top of a sun-dried tomato cream sauce and it’s one of the most delicious dishes I’ve ever had!
The goat cheese is really rich and compliments the chicken so well. And the tomato cream sauce is the icing on the cake. You really should go and try this out, it was so delicious and flavorful!
Here’s Shane, the owner of Joe’s with Lisa, the chef who cooked this delicious meal!
Now it’s time to award Shane a plastic chicken from The Costume Trunk! That’s Steve Spain, owner of The Costume Trunk holding the prized plastic chickens!
Katie looked on as I presented Shane with the prestigious plastic chicken award!
Insert your own choking the chicken joke here! (Thanks to Brittany for taking the photos!)
There’s the chicken in its new home at the cash register at Joe’s Original Italian & Martini Bar.
This fowl tour is officially over and kind of fitting seeing that it’s the last day of the year! I’ll be announcing the next food tour next week!
Happy New Year!
