Well, we’re coming to the end of this 13 month clucked up tour. I ate a lot of fried chicken on this fowl tour and today I’d like to announce my favorite fried chicken from this finger-lickin’ chicken tour.
Before I announce my favorite, let’s take a look at all the fried chicken I ate on the 12 month chicken tour.
There’s all the fried chicken that I ate on this motherclucking tour! It was all delicious and I enjoyed every single dinner, but now it’s time to pick my favorite fried chicken dinner.
And let me emphasize that this is my favorite fried chicken, you may or may not agree with me, but it doesn’t matter because this is my blog and your opinion doesn’t matter here. So there!
And so now, without any further adieu, because I’ve never really known what adieu is anyway…
We now present my favorite fried chicken from the MBIP 13 Months Of Chicken Tour…oh Ringo, could you please supply a drum roll here?
Thanks Ringo! And now here’s my favorite fried chicken…
My favorite fried chicken was served up at one of my favorite places in Peoria, Agatucci’s Restaurant!
Last Saturday we went to Agatucci’s to have their seasonal Tom and Jerry drinks and I also got a fried chicken dinner so I could put up fresh photos for this post.
The fried chicken dinner is a four piece fried chicken dinner and it comes with salad, bread and fries, but the focus today is on the fried chicken, so let’s dig in!
A lot of people don’t know about the fried chicken at Agatucci’s and if you’re in this group, you need to get over there and try it out!
They started serving fried chicken in the early ’40’s here and they sold chicken before they ever sold pizza in here. The recipe has been handed down through the years making this Peoria’s oldest and longest running original family fried chicken recipe!
The fried chicken is crispy on the outside and tender and juicy as you take a bite of this flavorful fried chicken. There’s a blend of spices in the breading that has a wonderful taste and flavor. It’s southern fried chicken with an old school Italian twist and it’s the way fried chicken should taste! Cluck yeah!
I wanted to bring something to commemorate this special occasion with, so I decided to present Tony and Danny Agatucci with a fake plastic chicken as an award for their outstanding fried chicken.
So of course I went to The Costume Trunk, which is the home for Peoria’s finest fake plastic chickens.
I went and got a photo of owner Steve Spain displaying his manliness by choking not one, but two of these fine fake and plastic chickens!
Here I am presenting the fake plastic chicken to Tony and Danny Agatucci and of course this has to lead to a photo of the three of us…
Choking the chicken! Motherclucker!
Thanks to Tony and Danny Agatucci and everyone at Agatucci’s restaurant for the wonderful hospitality and fried chicken! And thanks to Amber for taking the behind the bar photos!
Next week I’ll be announcing my favorite chicken dinner from this tour and then we can finally move on to a brand spanking new food tour here on MBIP! Stay tuned!
