Live from Peoria Illinois, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, The Fish House with special guests the Counce Family and the fifth annual holiday drink contest with Paul the bartender versus Justin the owner.
Now please welcome this week’s host, The Fish House!
Here we are at The Fish House, one of Peoria’s most beloved restaurants that’s been in business since 1976!
As always, when I’m dining here alone I prefer to sit in the lounge.
This is one of Peoria’s darkest bars and if Al ever comes here, I’ll definitely bring him here!
There’s Paul the bartender serving up a beer with a holiday tree! He also showed off his Christmas tie that has Santa wearing sunglasses. Nice!
I decided to order from the appetizer menu because I wasn’t that hungry. Someone brought doughnuts into work and I had about three before I came here, so I’m going to eat lightly.
Behind the bar is the lounge area and as I entered the dining room I saw some familiar faces, it’s the Counce family! From left that’s Rob, Bob, Jon and Betty.
Betty is an author and you can check out her facecrack page right here. Wonderful to see all of them!
Meanwhile, back at the bar, my appetizer dinner is about to be served!
I got a shrimp cocktail which was delicious and I also got…
The homemade chips and dip. The chips are fried up as you order them and they’re served up warm with the cool ranch dip. Everything was tasty and delicious and just the right amount of food.
And now it’s time for…
The Fifth Annual Holiday Drink Contest at The Fish House!
This year it’s bartender Paul versus Justin who’s the owner of The Fish House!
Gentlemen, start your drinks!
Paul went first.
Here he is concocting his holiday drink which is an ice cream drink.
And here’s Paul serving it up. He called the drink a French Christmas Tree and it was very delicious!
Now it’s time for Justin to mix up his Christmas drink.
He made a warm chocolate drink.
He added some peppermint to the mix and his drink is called the Peppermint Patty. It was very tasty!
This is going to be a tough decision this year, both are so delicious!
After some decision and a trip to the bathroom, I chose Justin’s Peppermint Patty because the peppermint had more of a holiday taste.
As you can see, Paul took the decision well and wasn’t a sore loser at all!
Thanks to Justin and Paul for playing along and for two delicious holiday drinks!
