One of the biggest influences in my life was Punk magazine.
Punk was the first “do it yourself” fanzine that I ever saw. It was first published in January of 1976 when I was a senior in high school. I used to buy it at Co-op Tapes and Records on Main Street.
The editor of the magazine was John Holmstrom and the “resident punk” was Legs McNeil. I would get to know both of them after I moved to New York in 1993. Below are six links to Punk magazine online articles and three links to two interviews with Legs McNeil and one with John Holmstrom from my days living in New York City.
And MBIP is back next week and the coming attractions are below!
