Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, Cheese Nuts Brick Oven Pizzeria with special guest stars, Kyle and the Cheese Nuts crew. Now please welcome all the way from Junction City, Cheese Nuts Brick Oven Pizzeria!
Here we are on a very cold and chilly evening at Cheese Nuts Brick Oven Pizzeria in Junction City. I don’t think too many people will be dining outside, it’s freezing out here, so let’s get inside and start this week’s Saturday night evening.
Wow, it’s toasty warm in here and as you can see, there’s quite a crowd inside. Cheese Nuts started over in East Peoria and I have heard great things about their pizza but they didn’t serve beer over there so I never stopped by. As you can see by the chalkboard, they serve beer here and slices at lunch time which is a rarity we addressed in this post right here.
This is the owner of Cheese Nuts, Kyle Gorman. Kyle is quite an inspirational fellow, he’s from New Jersey, he never opened or owned a restaurant before he and his wife, Mindy Jane opened up the East Peoria location. The two of them just went for it and now they have a wildly successful business here in Junction City. Kyle took my order and while that’s being prepared we’ll take a little look around in here.
They have a nice selection of bottled beers in here and there’s the trio of beers on tap.
Here’s the oven where all of the food is cooked in here and it runs on...
This wood over that’s piled up over here.
I love the large communal table opposite the ordering and cooking area. There’s also nice artwork in here including a giant pizza slice on the wall.
There’s Kyle and one of his crew working on our Saturday night dinner.
It’s time for another beer before I sit down. I didn’t write down the names of these two pretty women working behind the counter, but I appreciate their hospitality!
I settled into a table and according to the wall, it’s time to eat!
I got a cheese pizza and it’s incredible! This is the closest to a New York style of pizza I’ve ever had in Peoria!
I also got an order of the Honey and Heat wings and these were amazing as well! Equal parts sweet and heat and so delicious!
Here’s the Cheese Nuts crew and a shot of Kyle and I outside in the cold winter weather. Thanks to Kyle and the crew for a wonderful Saturday night dinner and fun hospitality!

Four Galloping Gourmets—The pizza here is true New York style and the chicken wings are so tasty. All are cooked in the wood stoked oven. You definitely need to check this place out if you haven’t already!
